During all this while, if one paid close enough attention, he would notice that ‘Progressive’ virtues have come to be synonymous with Islamic norms. The attempt to normalize regression by progressive outlets, the rebranding of a symbol of oppression, the Hijab, as an emblem of woman empowerment and with a closet Islamist, Linda Sarsour, leading the Women’s March against Trump, the difference between Progressive Values and Islamic Virtues are receding everyday.
We should be well aware by now, Indian Liberalism is just Western Progressivism with a time lag. And the time lag is shrinking with every passing minute. Under such circumstances, we shouldn’t be too surprised that the Indian Mainstream Media, which is by and large of a very particular ideological orientation, is quickly becoming a carbon copy of the discredited Western Media. After eulogizing the likes of Afzal Guru and publishing tomes of apologia for Burhan Wani and his ilk, it was only a matter of time before Progressive media outlets went over the edge in its apologia for Islamic Terrorism and Fundamentalism. And thus it happened that The Quint, a media outlet the Queen of Fake News India, Barkha Dutt, joined recently, commemorated Osama Bin Laden’s death anniversary with an article that spoke of Bin Laden: The Husband and the Father. Yes The Quint actually eulogized Osama Bin Laden.
Progressives like The Quint, of late, have developed a rather unhealthy fascination with Islam. The Progressive ideology (which is just another name of Liberalism), which has always been antagonistic to the dominant culture of the land and seeks the destruction of traditional society, has cunningly made a pact with Radical Islam to achieve its objective. In its war against Traditional Society, Progressives have allied themselves with the Islamic community as a means to an end. However, Islam has surreptitiously filled in the Spiritual vacuum that progressivism naturally creates. And as such, it has become increasingly difficult to distinguish Islamic values from Progressive virtues.
Objections to such a deduction maybe raised, and quite deservedly so, by citing the Progressive’s strong support for the LGBT community and Islam’s abhorrence towards it. Such objection can be easily rebutted by pointing one towards the monument of literature Progressives have conjured to whitewash Islam’s disdain towards the LGBT community and make a case for an Islamic defense of LGBT rights. If we push our memories a bit, we will remember how the LGBT community itself, right after the Orlando attack, claimed attempts will be made to pit two vulnerable groups against each other (Muslims and LGBTs) and they must resist it. The Progressives are quite willing to ignore Islam’s deplorable Human Rights Record as they exhaust all their resources to paint Islam with a humane face.
One might critique my deduction on the basis of the Progressive’s support for Women Rights and Islam’s complete disregard for any such concept. Once again, one needs only read the extent to which Progressives have gone to reconcile the concept of Women’s Rights with Islam. Huffington Post published an article titled, ‘Muslims are the true Feminists’. Jim Garrison in his article in Huffington Post, ‘Muhammad was a Feminist’, asserts that ‘arguably’ prophet Muhammad was history’s first feminist. After one has reviewed all the literature Progressives have penned on Islam, it becomes clear that they have annointed Islam as the ideology that best represents Progressive values and virtues. Subconsciously perhaps, they realize that Islam is their best bet towards achieving their dream of destroying Traditional Western Society, and in our scenario, the Traditional Hindu society.
That we are shocked with Quint’s article on Osama Bin Laden on his death anniversary shows we have focused far too little in the Progressives’ words and even lesser in their actions.
And we have unwittingly made too many concessions for liberalism on far too many occasions when circumstances demand otherwise. We should have realized by now that Liberalism itself seeks the destruction of Traditional society and is willing to go to any extent to achieve its objective. Therefore, it’s really no surprise that liberals have allied themselves with Islam to realize their wet dream. Liberals seem to not realize that they have Islamists in their ranks and even if they do, they embrace them with open arms because they’re useful in their war against the dominant culture of the land. Effectively, Liberalism is now Islam-lite that seeks to raze Traditional Society to the ground to pave the way for a takeover by Islam.
