Demonetization is among the most chewed topics today. At one end the whole nation is standing with PM Modi in this fight against black money and at another end all opposition along with mainstream media are campaigning against this. People standing in the queues don’t have problem with demonetization and the slight inconvenience that comes along with it but those who can’t stand in queue to exchange their notes are furious with this decision and trying to pressurize Modi Govt with their cheap politics. Politicians like Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray are creating confusion in the minds of people, more than anything else. Even many of the mainstream media houses have joined the bandwagon.
There are different aspects of looking at the effects of demonetization. Like it would lead to wiping out of black money and fake currency, it will also control inflation etc. to name a few.
Along with these expected impacts there are some by-products of demonetization which can’t be ignored at all. The accumulated funds of the Naxalites are as useless as Rahul Gandhi now.
Another major example of demonetization is how Kashmir, the burning paradise of our country is now inching towards normalcy.
For almost 20 weeks, life came to a halt owing to the tensions in the Kashmir valley after the armed forces killed local LeT terrorist Burhan Wani. Massive stone pelting by the Kashmiris on the armed forces and army’s use of pellet guns made headlines. The daily routine of the valley stayed disrupted for more than 20 weeks. Barely 10 days after the demonetization, Kashmir has surprisingly come to normalcy.
Let’s try to understand it.
Kashmir Valley before Demonetization.
Kashmir Valley issue is one of the bleeding wounds of our country gifted by our beloved 1st PM Jawaharlal Nehru. The seeds of separatism were sowed long back in the blood of the Kashmiri Muslims by then politicians and now they are nurtured by the mainstream media and political parties. Separatist forces like Hurriyat and Yasin Mallik’s JKLF behind the shell of article 370 of constitution are nurturing this venom of separatism.
The Kashmiri Population is not homogenized with Indian blood even after 69 years of independence. The conflicts between armed forces and Kashmiri residents were making new records. No diplomatic or military solutions were able to solve this knot.
Effect of Demonetization on Kashmir Valley.
All the wails and whimpers from the valley dieed away unexpectedly without firing a single bullet. Important reason behind this is that the whole issue was tackled in the completely wrong way. Kashmir issue was always seen as the “Spontaneous uprising of the majority of the masses from the valley for the annexation of Kashmir into adjacent Islamic nation i.e. Pakistan”. After the demonetization, we can firmly say that it was not spontaneous. It was being evoked by the vermins using funds from various NGO’s. As their reserves have evaporated hence they have no more afflatus to throw any stones at armed forces.
Other perks of demonetization
- As per security agencies the terrorists waiting across the LOC are sent back in Pakistan as they have no funds for their planned missions.
- Naxalites have suffered loss of as much as 9000 crores by not able to use existing stock of funds, as per some news agencies.
- Hawala rackets have suffered unbearable loss that it might never stand back.
- Due to crippled Hawala racket, Separatists in J&K have suffered severe losses.
- Smuggling of illegal arms and weapons is heavily affected as all these transactions takes place only in cash.
Angels of Azadi have lost their spirit which once vaunted about freeing Kashmir from India. It has been proved that the issue is not of religious uprising but it’s greed of money of the Kashmiri youth and convenience of the leaders.
To dull the influence of these separatist leaders, their funds should be monitored and ceased. Unlike nationalism separatism feeds on funds, it’s not a spontaneous cause.
