I hope this letter finds you in good health and also sincerely hope that the police are providing you with a security cover.
Trust me, I am not a member of the MNS or in fact any other Sena and do not endorse their idea of pushing you or any artist out of the country. This letter, therefore, might not be a letter of love, but certainly isn’t a letter of hate.
Also, I hate to say this but this letter poses a greater threat to me than to you as a section of people in this country are playing the ‘people to people contact’ song on loop.
Since you are into cinema Fawad, I am sure you have watched Love Actually? Remember that one Hugh Grant speech that took this otherwise silly film to a more serious level?

I fear the same. The relationship between India and Pakistan has become a bad and almost irreparable relationship. I would have to be a hypocrite to pretend that Pakistan is not endorsing terror on its soil.
I would also need to be very high on weed to pretend Pakistan is not involved in the 26/11 attacks in India, in fact in Mumbai, the same city that houses Bollywood, now your karmbhoomi.
Fawad, I would also have to incredibly stupid to suggest you pay for the crimes of the terror organizations that your country is breeding.
The MNS is, of course, looking at a political opportunity and even though your Prime Minister has made a mockery of the terror it is heaping on our people, I or most Indians will not heap insults on you.
And it’s not just the good looks that make some of our women swoon. It is that ancient idea of Athithi Devo Bhavah. So let us get to facts right here.
One, as a woman I acknowledge you do have incredibly good looks and as a student of cinema I agree your role in Kapoor and Sons was indeed a milestone. So Fawad don’t go back. Please stay here.
Even though I believe Bollywood would work just fine without you. I mean Khoobsoorat and Kapoor and Sons happened just now. The industry has flourished for a century. But even then don’t go back. You need to stay right here and take up more bold roles.
In fact, I was pretty naive of me to think you had actually made a statement with the portrayal of an adorable gay man in Kapoor and Sons. Maybe it wasn’t anything. Because Fawad you want to play safe. You don’t want to enrage your people, or the Mullahs in your country.
If you had, you would have said a line on the Uri attack. As your trailer of Aye Dil Hai Muskhil was prancing around the internet, there was an eighty-year-old mother carrying the arthi of her dead son.
Dead because your country, Fawad, Your country chose to send people to kill him.
Now I am not even suggesting you have a role in the policy making of your country. Also, no suggesting we made a star out of you. But since the chorus of ‘people to people’ contact is at its zenith, why doesn’t Fawad say aye dil hai muskhil yeh maan na athra log aise hi mar gaye?
Why doesn’t Fawad say aye dil hai muskil terror attacks ko bhulana? Bolna Fawad Bolna. You are an icon in both countries, dude.
If an artiste doesn’t have any intent to protest, to go against the tide, to speak up, to change the world, it is not art. It is pure business. So should we say you are silent because you do not care enough?
Because this ‘people to people’ contact is just another justification of all things that is wrong in the Uri attack?
Now you probably had said in some famous interview that you stay away from politics. Fair enough. It is actually a pretty drab thing and only some out of work writers like me are obsessed with it.
But do you think the Uri attack is politics and therefore you are silent on the matter? It is not that you are heartless, Fawad. You did feel extremely bad about the Paris attacks, the Peshawar attacks, and the blast on the day of Easter at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal park.
I am saying this on the basis of your tweets. And you don’t need to be a politician to condemn cry and mourn terror attacks. So what stopped you from condemning Uri?
Bloodshed is bloodshed. Terror is terror. And this is the land where you work. Maybe someone from the family of the eighteen martyrs is a fan.
DoIndian wounds mean nothing to you Fawad? Aye dil hai mushkil ye maan na. One tweet? Too much to ask, Fawad?
In fact, you were also excited about peace and Wagah border at some point in time, right? So what stops you from condemning terror now? Indians mean nothing to you? Only swooning fans do?

P.S- I could have written this to any other Pakistani actor too. But our Bollywood industry in all their collective wisdom have imported Humaima Malick, Sarah Loren, Mawra Hocane , Mahira Khan and Ali Zafar and not sure a real lover or cinema would call them artistes.
And of course Fawad’s popularity is currently more than Atif Aslam or Rahat Saab . Would the artiste use his popularity for peace? Bolna Fawad Bolna.
