When I watched the ‘bail episode’ of Sonia and Rahul, I was feeling disappointment. Not for they were not indicted immediately, for I am not their supporters, who have not ventured into the streets. Not because their passports were not impounded, as sought by Swamy. It has nothing to do with the mother-son duo and nor with the Swamy, who filed the PIL in the capacity of a – normal citizen.
It was simply, in general, i.e., the disappointment was. May be it has to do something of things that have touched a new low in Indian – not only politics, but the system in general. The melancholy might be the result of witnessing something that had symbolized with the fall of the State and its people and polity.
Even in their wild imagination, both Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru would never have thought that some one who were related to the offspring of the fiery Indira go to the court – in free India, as accused. Not even the mighty Indira Gandhi, who overthrew the court’s judgement and declared emergency, for showing the courage to find fault with her election.
Now, for the first time in my life, I understood the predicament of Arjuna, before the commencement of Kurukshetra. Alas, I am not Arjuna and there is no Krishna in these days.
Daughter-in-law of the only MALE prime minister of India! Son of the prime minister, who was called “Mr Clean”, albeit till Bofors struck. Leaders of the political party, that represented almost entire India (including Pakistan and Bangladesh) and has a legacy of One hundred and thirty years. The party that was associated with many intellectuals (the real ones) like Rabindranath Tagore, Rajaji and leaders like Subhas Chandra Bose. The party that had seen people like Kamaraj, who didn’t crave for power. The party that had seen a sincere administrator like Lal Bahadur Shastri.
What I had thought when I saw Sonia and Rahul coming out of the court after they were RELEASED after furnishing bail bonds worth fifty thousand rupees each?
Ever wondered why great dynasties are no more? Why great cultures have disappeared? My son had this doubt when he was in fourth standard. Tough question to answer.
After two days when I was watching news on television, I called him and showed Rahul Gandhi and explained. In every dynasty, there would be a person like Rahul Gandhi, with whom the fall of the dynasty starts. Frankly, after nearly ten years of training on leadership skills, if we get such a product that resembles what he is now, I wonder, how all management gurus had the audacity to claim that leaders can be groomed.
And Sonia symbolized the efforts of the Government to promote ‘girl education’. The slogan of the government is – ‘If male child studies, only he gets educated and wise. If a female child studies, one family gets educated and wise”. Sonia might have had accolades for her or her advisor’s political acumen, but as a mother, she is a complete failure. With access to the best of the education facilities, if one turns out like Rahul.. Tut.. Tut…
There was Jawaharlal who advised – no preached to the locals whose land was getting submerged when the Hirakud dam was being built “not to worry for the loss of their land, but consider the benefits of the nation”. And we have Rahul going to each village and threaten that their land is being usurped by – of all – the Government!
And I wonder why his advisors have not explained him the meaning of “usurping”. Of course, I don’t expect Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes to do this. But, certainly Sam Pitroda could do this, at the fag end of his life, after trying with all his might to bury the Bofors scam in deep earth.
Still, the family’s greed was so high, they plummeted the party to so deep. Even if the party recover post the Sonia and Rahul setback, as is the norm in politics – no, I don’t want to even comprehend the situation. It is for the court to decide whether the accused are the culprits. They may turn the show into a political one and play the card of victims of vendetta politics. Wait, I hear Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati smiling heartily in their homes, watching whenever Rahul and his sycophants talk about abuse of CBI, that once was called ‘Congress Bureau of Investigation’.
For how long, these morons think Indian people could be manipulated by these shows and dramas they play from time to time, invoking late leaders and the lost grandiose of the party? I heard CD Singhvi and Kapil Sibal talking about the past of Subramanian Swamy and his nature – forgetting the notorious ‘zero loss’ theory of 2G scam and coal scam.
And why none of the top echelon of Congress advisors are directly elected representatives, but nominated ones? For how long the party can survive on the mistakes of other parties, instead on its own strength?
I pity us, the people of India, who in all probability will elect the person, who tried to ‘usurp’ the real estate of the ‘National Herald’ that represented the fourth estate during freedom movement. Today, I really felt the need for ‘Congress Mukht Bharat’
PS: It is hilarious when Congress leaders in parliament talk about the Arunachal Pradesh Governor. At the best they can accuse him behaving like their own ilk.
