Chamcha- Hey, Bhakt ! Have you listened to the statement of Aamir Khan, the perfectionist? His wife wants to leave the country fearing for the safety of their children. Aamir says intolerance is increasing in the country.
Bhakt – Oh! Suddenly intolerance is increasing for him? He is free to go. Even Acharya Saheb, honourable Governor of Assam had gave his permission to all Muslims wanting to go to Pakistan. But, I don’t think Aamir took it seriously and is planning to migrate to Pakistan.
C – He never told that he’ll go to Pakistan. And with the kind of money he has, he can go to America. He will work in Hollywood.
B- What’s new in this and why does he need to give a statement? Irrfan Khan was a regular Hollywood actor and he never gave any statement.
C- You blind Bhakt ! You don’t see the larger picture. Aamir Khan is one of India’s most talented actors and along with those Award returnees, he also feels intolerance is increasing in India. And all of this is happening because of your Government.
B- If someone gives back his award after twenty years, how the Government is responsible? We are not even responsible for the loss of Bihar elections. Don’t expect other nonsensical things from us!
C- That is exactly the point. You people are irresponsible. Why are you running the Government? You failed us. You failed the people voted for you. You should quit and go home and let us rule the country. We are experts in running the Government.
B- So, this is the crux of the nuisance in the name of intolerance. So, if Aamir says he feels intolerance, everybody should accept it like it is some oracle. Else, you declare the country as intolerant. And, finally you want to come to Power. That is the main issue. Huh! Shame on you, how intolerant you are. You were failed by the people and rested for five years, at least. Still, you crave for power.
C- It is not we are craving for power. Your PM was not responding when the intolerance is on the rise in the country.
B- But, I wonder how and why the award returning campaign stopped all of a sudden, immediately after we lost in Bihar elections. Don’t you see a conspiracy by your cronies?
C- Some of your intelligent Bhakt s raised this question few days back. So, one poet in Odisha returned his award four days back. Now, Aamir feels insecure.
B- So, you Chamchas formed a whatsapp group also. Good, you are improving. And when there was no BJP, two of your prime ministers were assassinated. So, in a country where a Prime Minister is not safe, how one can expect others feel secure?
C- But, Aamir became superstar in the last two decades, after those assassinations and only now, after those beef killings he felt insecure. May be he likes beef and fears raid at any time. And he lives in Mumbai, where your partner was notorious for attacking anyone. They’ve not spared even your own Sudhindra Kulkarni.
B- They were like that for the last fifty years. And your Government never acted against them. Why should we, being partners, albeit a warring ones?
C- Forget our rule that was in past. Now you are in power and you should act.
B- Can you explain how two killings in the country of more than a billion people make the entire country intolerant?
C- This question is out of syllabus. You cannot ask this one. For the country to be tolerant, we shall be back in power. Didn’t you hear “Many Ahankar Aiyar”?
B- Do you know that Chidu had realised that banning ‘Satanic Verses’ was a mistake by Rajiv Gandhi, after more than three decades?
C- Chidu talks nonsense. That was a decision of that day.
B- But, Rajiv justified the killings of Sikhs avenging his mother’s assassination. Sonia ensured even the young son of Prabhakaran was killed to avenge Rajiv’s assassination. How can you say your leaders are tolerant?
C- You forgot Sonia renounced power like Buddha and it was public reaction in ’84. Our leaders were always tolerant.
B- What tolerance you are talking? As Nehru rejected Feroze Khan as son-in-law, Gandhi adopted him and lent his family name to your leaders. The same Indira Gandhi didn’t accept Sonia and she lived in Bachchan’s house after coming to India. Where is tolerance here?
C- These questions are out of syllabus. I need to go on a sabbatical to think over this. We’ll continue our discussion, when I return.
B- Where do you go for contemplation?
C- Considering our own Kashmir and contemplate while skiing. Foreign countries are not so safe, considering these ISIS and blasts. Kashmir terrorists are the most tolerant lot.
B- Nice. We’ll meet after you return. Kaka, what’s your opinion?
RK’s Apple Man (Mangoes are too costly to be the commoner’s fruit): That there was no script writer for Aamir when he spoke his mind. Else, he would have parroted some patriotic dialogues and got more endorsement offers. However, for both of you, this fact is irrelevant. And for me, it is irrelevant whether India is tolerant or not. It doesn’t matter what Aamir thinks and which books you ban, as long as you pay the bill for the tea. I don’t get gyan from your discussion to consider it as teachings. Now, pay the bill and go. Wait a minute, probably you both were not updated, he already clarified after two days of storm in my tea kettle that he and his wife have no intentions to leave India.
