The census figure on religion has been released finally today. It was compiled more than four years back. Here are the key takeaways:
Percentage growths
0.7%: As per the 2011 census data, the percentage of Hindus in India declined by 0.7%
0.8%: The percentage of Muslims in India increased by 0.8%
0.2%: As per the 2011 census data, the percentage of Sikhs in India declined by 0.2%
0.1%: the percentage of Buddhists in India declined by 0.1%

The proportion of Hindus declined to below 80% for the first time
As per the 2011 census data, Assam and West Bengal witnessed the sharpest increase in the Muslim population during the 2001-2011 decade, the change is being accredited to the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to these states.

If this is the way it goes, Hindus will eventually lose the majority status to Muslims, which atleast won’t be good for the economy(apart from other domains), as we can see in other Muslim dominated countries. TIme to act, Now !!
