Firstpost at it again. They have successfully converted an apolitical news to a sellable political controversy.

Here is what happened:

Zeeshan Khan (22) applied for a marketing job to Hari Krishna Exports Pvt Ltd on Tuesday via email. Within 15 minutes, he received the reply: “We regret to inform you that we hire only non-Muslim candidates.” Khan and his friends put out a screenshot of the mail on social media and it went viral. By Thursday, he was trending on Twitter. (Source: TOI). So basically a Muslim youth was denied a job offer by a PRIVATE firm that allegedly hires only Non-Muslim candidates. Now the head of a firm can be a bigot, homophobe, sexist or racist. These are personal traits and have got nothing to do with the government. If tomorrow a gay man is denied an offer by a Homophobe company director of a private firm or a South Indian is denied an offer by a racist North Indian Managing director of a Delhi based firm, should we all come out in hordes and start blaming Modi? Simple rules of logic say no.

So what is Firstpost trying to do? Why are they converting an apolitical news to a primetime political Masala. The reason is simple. They are simply pursuing their pseudo secular agenda by sending out a message “Muslims are treated unfairly in this nation”. I have Muslim colleagues at my workplace and never have I seen them getting mistreated by their team mates, leads or higher management for being a Muslim. When they goof up at work, they get reprimanded like myself or anybody else. But this is India and anything that shows the second religious majority of India as a victim is a potential political controversy. “A roadside ruffian slapping a passerby” is sold as “Hapless Muslim attacked by Hindu bully in Modi’s India”. Add a generous dose of RSS, VHP and a veiled attack on BJP, a sure shot online viral post is ready to be served. Because of this very attitude of the newswallahs, 2002 Gujarat riots, Ishrat Jahan encounter, Batla house encounter have been discussed, re discussed, over discussed, debated and argued gazillion times. And the mere mention of these incidents makes the Muslims act orphaned. ‘1984’ which was an orchestrated homicide strangely isn’t discussed so frequently.

Screeching journalists will invite spokespersons of different parties tonight on their show. “Are Muslims a stepchild of this nation?” will be discussed. Branded liberals will shake their heads in despair about the political hooliganism done by BJP. Someone will start discussing Sakshi Maharaj and Ghar Waapsi and the core issue of blatant racism of an individual will lay forgotten. What a loss.

To conclude I’d say Muslims in India should stop paying heed to the news traders that victimize them. India is an equal opportunity provider to everyone regardless of their caste or religion (The reservation thing holds true of course). They need to give the prejudiced and half-baked articles a little break and let reasoning take the driving seat. They need to be more positive about their lives and the lives of those, they share their country with. They need to read more about people like Azeem Premji, A R Rehman and APJ Abdul Kalam. And the Newswallahs should understand that articles like these only fan the communal cinders. This will make Muslims feel more alienated and hate their governments more. What are you trying to do here? Planning a civil unrest?

Auto guy thrashed a guy in Delhi – Its not a one off instance. It’s all Kejriwal’s responsibility. He has only given these Auto guys the over-confidence to get into brawls. Social media is painted red, blue, green with satirical posts.

Muslim Guy denied job offer – It’s a one off incident. Modi is now way related to it. First post trying to give it a diffreent angle. Modi has not given any confidence boost to any company or individual per-se to conduct in this manner.

Your points raised here are right. But just try comparing the same with my first paragraph – does seem like dual standards!!

To select or reject a candidate is the prerogative of the company especially in the case of private companies. Thousands may be lakhs of people are rejected every day and nobody gives true reasons why. That is not the only company in the world which will take him and there is no quota that has to filled by taking candidate from any religion or caste since again company is private. Unless this happens in govt owned companies outrage is misplaced.

Its easy to write an article and then standing on a high altar preaching Muslims how to think and what to do. It is another to live life as one and see the things. You are totally missing the perspective.

Fact is, BJP is a political arm of Hindu extremists organization RSS. Fact is, RSS hasn’t hidden that they have Hindu supremists ideas. Fact is RSS preaches isolation of Muslims in social, political and economic sectors. They asks builders not to give flats to Muslims in society. From MP/MLA perspective – BJP have 0 in LS, 0 in MP, 0 in GJ, 0 in JH, 1 in JK, 1 in BR, 1 in MS, 2 in RJ. Of the 15% that muslim constitutes this is a very shabby number and reflection of the BJP ideology. Fact is RSS even forbids people under their influence not to watch movies with muslim actors. Because of this politico-religious institutional action and inefficiency of opposition parties, Muslims have been reduced to the economic and social status of Dalits.

And inspite all this marginalization, Mr Modi with “Sabka saath, sabka vikaas”, haven’t spoken out against any of the incidents that have happened against the minorities. As the PM, it is his responsibility to check such facists ideologies, but all he has done so far is kept mum.

RSS and BJP both have Muslim members , RSS Ideology is based on service to Nation and not to Hinduism , In Hinduism service to the Nation comes before religion not the case with Islam, #facts are out there ISIS and many other organizations dont put nation ahead but there own #ideology
:- if that was not the case we would had been a Failed State like Bangladesh and Pakistan as both are Ideologically Region (islam) based country and National Interest does not comes first ,
Rather all Muslim Minorities like (sects of Islam)are treated badly at all brotherhood country and also in Pakistan Iran Iraq on bombing in pakistan so on you get the point
:- you should be happy that this will never happen in India where Hindus are majority , or say in Israel where Jews are majority do not allow brotherhood related violence ,
rather Muslims are doing better in India then in Pakistan or Bangladesh where we consider national interest as the most important interest of all
Jai Hind , Jai Maharashtra ,

RSS and there members says to many things including some pure stupid things . now its upon you to either believe it or not. rss says dnt watch movies with Muslim actors but then also pk earned more than 700cr worldwide. there are only 2-3 lakh members of RSS in this country. 99% of Hindus dnt even care about what RSS says. many Muslim leaders says that one day they will convert every Hindu into Muslim or they will kill everyone. i don’t care what they because i have most faith full friends who are Muslims…. so its you choice to either keep on crying or start doing something for your country

The stupidest logical fallacy of all : “Because I have not personally witnessed said injustice being done, therefore said injustice does not exist. Hence proved”. Just because your muslim colleague are treated fairly doesnt mean discrimination doesnt exist.
