We are as saddened you are, and we don’t believe in ‘Kadi Ninda’ alone too. However, before you equate UPA-II with NDA, remember that the former left the defense infrastructure in shambles was indifferent to the sinking of submarines, did not give the forces a free hand while dealing with the enemies, and wanted to give Siachen away at one point.
This is not to justify the PM or his office, but when you voted for BJP, you voted for a process. The defense infrastructure has improved, scams are no longer prevailing, and Pakistan can’t even dream of having Siachen. Also, the surgical strikes did happen and each ceasefire violation has been met with a ferocious reply.
Naxalites or Pakistani militants, our forces shall reply, don’t think they can’t or the GOI doesn’t want them to. When CRPF lost its men, we wanted the government to respond, and today, when 2 of our brave soldiers have been mutilated by animals calling themselves humans, we crave for a strong comeback.
You want the Home Minister to be sacked? Very well, let’s assume he is sacked. What will the next Home Minister accomplish? Will he take up arms can carpet bomb Pakistan or the Red Corridor?
People calling themselves patriots are quick to take the escape route each time the government finds itself in a fix. They see the easy way out in criticism and questioning their own choice, the very choice they made merely 3 years ago.
What is the difference between UPA and NDA, you may ask?
The intent. Let’s assume for the sake of debate, today if the PM isn’t able to avenge the death of our forces. Will you vote Rahul Gandhi or Arvind Kejriwal to power then? The former doesn’t give a damn about the country and the latter was quick to endorse the Pakistani media when the surgical strikes happened.
I don’t write this to justify the position of the Prime Minister, for he is the executive head at this point, and he must respond back with brutal force, but not without rationality. I don’t want my PM to nuclear bomb Pakistan, for it will ruin my nation too, but does that make me less of a patriot than you? I don’t see peace as an option with terrorists, I don’t run behind the logic of diplomacy or negotiations or any other utopian solution to avenge the death of our forces, but I do stand by my Prime Minister in this hour of need, for I believe in him, for my vote wasn’t for a Hollywood styled Chuck Norris, but a process which promised change, which promised an escape from the degradation UPA had ushered.
If the PM doesn’t respond in the next few weeks, I’ll stand with the patriots on Twitter and Facebook, seeking the resignation of the entire cabinet, but I am willing to give them a few weeks for they must plan their vengeance, for they must look to strike where it hurts the most.
I am pained, I am distraught, but I am not going to hold up a white cardboard with some liberal nonsense and confess about my lack of faith in the PM.
The loss of our men is his failure too, but I choose to stand with him, for I believe in him and his government. They avenged it last time, and they will again.
For everyone else outside, don’t let your faith dwindle that easy, for this is a time when your nation needs it the most. In the age of social media and information, it’s not necessary for the state to publicize its plans. Were the plans for surgical strikes made public? You all know what followed.
Stand by your forces and government in solidarity, not in skepticism.
