For years, the Pakistan has boasted of its military strength and tried to convince its citizens that it can destroy India, whenever it wants to. However, recently, this false claim of theirs got a big jolt when the Indian Army launched a massive assault on Pakistan’s forward bases in the Naushera sector across the Line of Control. The Indian Army also released a video footage of how it attacked and destroyed the Pakistani bases as evidence (for those who kept asking the proof of the surgical strikes). Pakistan, as expected, denied that any such assault happened and that the video provided by the Indian Army was fake, but the damage had already been done. It completely shattered Pakistan military’s hollow claims of superiority and proved to the world (including Pakistani citizens) that Indian Army can wreak havoc on the Pakistani forces, if given a chance. Pakistan, unused to such strong response from India, was caught off-guard and was stupefied.
It immediately went into damage control mode to recover from this setback using three false stories, but each attempt fell flat and that too, hilariously, making the situation worse for Pakistan.
Firstly, Pakistani Air Force spread out the news that Pakistani Air Force fighter jets entered the Indian airspace and flew over the Siachen Glacier. Pakistan’s Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman reportedly flew one of the Mirage jets himself during this exercise. The Indian Air Force refuted the claims that the Indian airspace was violated by these fighter jets. After some time, even the Pakistani media reported that the Mirage Jets merely flew near the LOC (some 100 kms from it) and didn’t cross it. The Pakistani Air Force was left red-faced after being proven wrong by Pakistan’s own media.
But this was not the end of it. Later that day, Pakistan also claimed that Indian Army attacked a convoy of UN military observers during its visit to the LOC. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PR arm of ISI, issued a statement saying that a vehicle carrying two officers of the UN military observer group was attacked by the Indian forces near the LOC. However, in a major international embarrassment to Pakistan, the UN completely rejected these claims. Stephane Dujarric, the spokesperson of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, said that there was no evidence that United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) vehicle was targeted by the Indian Army. He said, “I can say to you that this afternoon in Bhimber District, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, UNMOGIP military observers accompanied by Pakistani Army escorts heard gunshots in their vicinity. There is no evidence that the UNMOGIP military observers were targeted by the gunfire. No UN military observer was injured”. This statement came as a tight slap to the Pakistani authorities who were trying hard to somehow paint a bad picture of India in the global community. It also shattered Pakistan’s hopes of maligning India’s reputation internationally through lies and deceit.
Now, Pakistani authorities were in a fix, having failed twice in a day and struggling to find a way out of this situation. Finally, they thought of a perfect way to regain their lost pride – a video for a video, an assault for an assault, albeit a fake one. The Pakistani authorities somehow got hold of a doctored video that showed bunkers being blown away by heavy mortars and rocket launchers. The Pakistani army released this video claiming that it showed the Pakistani army destroying an Indian post in Naushera. The Pakistani authorities thought that they finally a perfect comeback to India’s video which would serve to reinstate their image in the minds of the Pakistani citizens. But, alas, this joy didn’t even last for a day. While the Pakistani army and military were gloating in the glory of this video, a simple search showed that this video already existed on YouTube and was uploaded before by a Pakistani YouTube channel. However, the funny part is that, while Pakistani army claimed that the “surgical strike” by Pakistan shown in the video took place on May 13th 2017, the upload date on the video was April 30th, 2017. The description of the video also goes to mention that the video was shot on April 17th, 2017. Now, how does a video of the “surgical strike” that took place in May be shot in April, even before the incident took place, itself is a question only the Pakistani army can answer. This last event went on to prove that the Pakistani establishment isn’t just weak, but also desperate to the point of being stupid and a liar.
The best part is that, all the three incidents occurred on the same day and goes on to prove that the Pakistani military has been badly shaken and disoriented by the strong stance the Indian government has taken against terrorism and the freedom it has given its soldiers to give a befitting reply to all those who support and propagate terrorism in India.
P.S:- I feel sorry for the Pakistani panelists who had to come on Indian news debates and defend the stupidity and utter foolishness that they didn’t commit.
