Press Release regarding re-branding
We started as https://thefrustratedindian.com in 2012. Yes, the era of institutionalized Corruption. Then Narendra Modi stormed to power in 2014 and suddenly the name ceased to make sense. But TFI was already a massively popular brand. We continued with it till 2017. In Feb 2017, we decided to bifurcate social media and Web into 2 separate entities and as a result of it https://rightlog.in was born.
Till Feb 2019, we were the most visited alternate media content website in India. We had beaten most well established media opinion platforms as well. We hit a slump because of many reasons and our readership plummeted. From well over 5 Million Page views a month, we shrank to less than 2 Million. But we kept fighting and we will keep fighting
But times of adversity are the times of innovation. As our FB reach plummeted, we switched to YouTube. And in just 4 months, our subscriber base swelled to 2.44 Lakhs. Our videos views are nearing the 50 Million mark now.
There was another problem that we faced, people’s attachment to the brand TFI and our failure in explaining that both brands (rightlog and TFI) were from the same media company. With this re-branding we are trying to address this issue.
With this re-branding, we will lose a lot of things, an almost-established brand, Google’s first page for many high worth keywords, a decent domain authority score and branded content deals along with it. But as a team member told me “Sir long term gain sochiye, short term pain nahi” (Sir think long term gains, not short term pains).
