In a distressing incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, five individuals were injured on Thursday morning after an SUV, allegedly driven by the son of a BJP MLA, rammed into them, following which a cases has been initiated.

According to reports, the accident occurred around 7:30 am within the jurisdiction of the Karera police station. A Mahindra Thar, reportedly driven by Dinesh Lodhi, son of MLA Pritam Lodhi struck a motorcycle carrying three men before hitting two women who were walking along the roadside.

Details of the Collision

According to the complainant, Sanjay Parihar, he was traveling on a motorcycle toward Thanra village for work with two companions, Ashish Parihar and Anshul Parihar.

As per reports, walking ahead of them on the road were two women, identified as Sita Verma and Pooja Soni. Sanjay Parihar alleged that the SUV approached them from behind at high speed.

The vehicle first collided with the motorcycle, throwing the three men onto the pavement, before continuing forward and striking the two pedestrians. Local residents rushed to the scene to assist the victims, who were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Allegations and Confrontation

The victims identified the driver as Dinesh Lodhi, noting that the SUV was marked with “Pritam Lodhi” on the front and “MLA” on the rear. The situation reportedly escalated post-crash, with the victims alleging that the accused engaged in a heated argument and issued threats.

The incident was partially captured on camera by a bystander. Despite the driver’s alleged attempts to stop the recording using threatening language, the footage caught a brief exchange. In the video, the MLA’s son is heard saying, “I was honking and using siren, why were you swerving?”

Legal Action and Official Response

Following the incident, MLA Pritam Lodhi took to social media to address the allegations against his son. Maintaining a stance of legal accountability, he stated that for a public representative, neither his son nor his family stands above the public. He urged the police to ensure justice for the victims and insisted that action be taken in accordance with the law.

The police have officially booked Dinesh Lodhi under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically sections 281 (rash driving) and 125(A) (acts endangering life or personal safety). The investigation remains ongoing as authorities record further statements from witnesses and the injured.
