A 9th grader from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur has alleged that she was repeatedly raped by ten men over several months after being lured away with the promise of marriage, police said, exposing a disturbing case that unfolded across multiple locations in the Chaurichaura area.

The woman, who studies in Class 9, had left her home at around 9:00 AM on November 1, 2025, telling her family she was going to school. When she did not return by evening, her family began searching for her in nearby areas. After their efforts failed, they approached the local police station and filed a missing person complaint on November 7.

Police registered a case against unknown persons and launched an investigation. Nearly four months later, on March 23, the woman was traced and recovered by the police. During questioning, she revealed that after leaving home under the influence of a young man, she was allegedly taken to several places and raped by multiple men on different occasions.

A medical examination conducted after her recovery confirmed sexual assault.

Survivor recounts deception and exploitation

According to her statement to investigators, the woman alleged that an auto driver named Mukesh first approached her and promised to marry her. She explained how he filled vermilion in her hair parting and began presenting her as his wife while taking her to various hotels.

The woman alleged that Mukesh would stay with her in hotel rooms for several hours and establish physical relations with her.

She further told police that another accused, identified as Manvendra, who is pursuing an MBA, took her to his rented accommodation and introduced her to the landlord as his younger sister.

According to her account, several men used similar deception to take her to different locations where she was sexually exploited.

While narrating the ordeal to investigators, the survivor reportedly broke down in tears.

Investigation reveals hotel connections

The case took a serious turn after police analysed the woman’s call detail records following her recovery. Officials said the analysis indicated that she had been taken to multiple hotels during the period she was missing.

Based on this information, police detained ten individuals for questioning, including hotel operators suspected of facilitating the meetings. Investigators said evidence gathered during the probe pointed to the involvement of multiple accused.

Four men identified as Kishan alias Bittu, Sameer alias Dilshad, Monu alias Manish Rajbhar, and hotel operator Dharmraj have been formally arrested. They were produced before a court and subsequently sent to judicial custody.

Police probe continues

Six other suspects remain in police custody and are currently being questioned as the investigation continues.

Superintendent of Police (North) Gyanendra Kumar said the survivor’s statement had been recorded before a court following her recovery. He confirmed that the woman alleged that she had been taken to different places and raped by ten men over a period of time.

Based on her testimony, the police initiated legal proceedings against the accused. Kumar confirmed that four suspects have been sent to jail, while the role of the remaining individuals is still under investigation.

At the time of reporting, the police officials said further arrests may follow as investigators continue gathering evidence and examining the full extent of the crime.
