In a shocking incident, Asif Qureshi, the brother of Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi, lost his life following a violent altercation over a parking issue outside his residence in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area.
The incident took place around 10 PM on Thursday when a seemingly minor disagreement turned fatal.
According to the victim’s family, the conflict began when Asif noticed a scooter parked right outside the main gate of his home. He approached the person and politely asked them to move it as it was blocking the entrance.
However, the conversation quickly escalated. The individual, rather than cooperating, allegedly hurled abuses and threatened to return.
“He asked them to shift the scooter. Instead of doing that, they misbehaved and warned they’d come back,” said Shaheen Qureshi, Asif’s wife.
A few minutes later, the man came back—this time accompanied by his brother. The two attacked Asif with a sharp weapon, stabbing him multiple times.
“I called for help, but by the time my brother-in-law arrived, Asif had already lost a lot of blood,” Shaheen recalled, holding back tears.
Asif was rushed to National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, stating he had already passed away some time earlier.
Accused Arrested
The two attackers, identified as Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18), have been arrested by Delhi Police, and the weapon used in the attack has also been recovered. An FIR has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to murder.
Police say investigations are ongoing, including whether the accused had a prior grudge or history of conflict with the victim.
“We’ve arrested both individuals and are examining all possible motives behind the attack,” a senior police officer stated.
Family Speaks Out
Saleem Qureshi, Huma’s father and a well-known restaurateur, expressed deep grief over the killing of his nephew.
“All he did was ask them not to block the entrance to our home. They returned and took his life. This is beyond tragic,” he said.
Shaheen, Asif’s wife, also alleged that the attackers had previously threatened her husband and may have had intentions to harm him even before this incident.
