As counting progresses for the Delhi Elections 2025, early trends indicate a significant shift in the political landscape of the national capital. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has surged past the majority mark as per early trends signaling a potential end to the decade-long dominance of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). If the trend continues, it would mark the BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 25 years.

At the latest, the BJP was leading in 41 constituencies, while AAP was ahead in 28 seats. The Congress, struggling to regain relevance, was leading on just one seat. With a voter turnout of 60.54% recorded in the February 5 election, the final results will determine if AAP can secure a third term or if BJP will stage a comeback.

Key contests have drawn attention, with AAP’s Atishi Marlena, the current Chief Minister of Delhi trailing against Ramesh Bidhuri. Saurubh Bhardwaj of Aam Aadmi too is trailing behind BJP’s candidate Shikha Roy with 2000 votes. Moreover, Educator turned politician AAP’s Avadh Ojha was trailing behind BJP’s Ravinder Negi and Amanatullah khan too is lagging behind BJP’s Manish Chaudhary in Oakhla constituency. AAP’s supreme Arvind Kejriwal is leading from his seat with a mere 300 vote difference which showcases AAP’s struggling to mould elections in their favour. In Karawal Nagar, BJP’s Kapil Mishra led, whereas AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj maintained an edge in Greater Kailash. As counting continues, all eyes are on the final results of the Delhi Elections, which will decide whether Delhi witnesses a political change or if AAP retains its hold on power.
