Bollywood Star Govinda’s Marriage Hit by Divorce Speculations

Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja are making headlines currently for all the wrong reasons. Reports suggest that they have separated after 37 years of marriage. While the couple has not issued an official statement, speculation about their split continues to circulate.

According to Zoom TV, Govinda and Sunita have reportedly been living separately for some time now. However, neither of them has confirmed or denied the divorce rumors. Reports suggest that differences in their lifestyle choices have led to tensions in their relationship.

A report by Bollywood Now further claimed that Govinda’s alleged relationship with a Marathi actress might be a contributing factor to their separation. However, there is no official confirmation regarding these claims.

In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Sunita Ahuja shared insights about their living arrangements, explaining that they often stay in different homes. She mentioned that Govinda spends most of his time at their bungalow, while she resides in their apartment with their children.

“We have two houses—our bungalow is opposite our apartment. I have my temple and kids in the flat, where we stay. Govinda prefers to live in the bungalow, being out late because of all the social gatherings and meetings. He loves to socialize and party; my son, daughter, and I were look for a quieter life,” she stated.

Amid gossip, ETimes quotes a source as saying Sunita sent a notice of separation a few months ago but has not taken any further action.

Meanwhile, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, addressed the situation, stating that tensions had arisen due to certain statements made by family members. However, he dismissed rumors of a formal separation, adding that Govinda has been busy preparing for a new film and has been meeting with artists at his office.

During the Hindi Rush interview, Sunita also spoke candidly about her husband’s romantic side—or lack thereof.

When asked about their relationship, she laughed and said, “I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He never goes on holidays. I love going out and enjoying street food, but he has always been too focused on work. I don’t recall a single time we went to watch a movie together.”

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja tied the knot in March 1987, though they kept their marriage a secret until after the birth of their daughter, Tina, in 1988. The couple later welcomed their son Yashvardhan in 1997.
