It is a bitter reminder of the issues still prevalent in the region with regards to Naxal violence when security forces fight militant activities in Maoist-infected Chhattisgarh.
A similar attack has been made on the forces in 2023 as well. On April 26, 2023, ten police personnel and a civilian driver were killed after Naxals blew up their vehicle, which was part of a convoy carrying security forces in neighboring Dantewada district.
