Son of AAP MLA Misbehaved with the Police During Enforcing Law

On January 24, a report surfaced in the media about the misbehaviour of Amanatullah Khan’s son Anas with police. The AAP MLA’s son was driving a modified silencer bike without a helmet and was seen breaking basic transport laws on the road.

When the Police stopped him for his civil crime, he started misbehaving with the officials by taking the name of his father and his position. Police fined him Rs 20,000 for his actions.

A heated argument occurred when police stopped Anas. When asked to show documents, Anas called his father and argued with the cops. He was fined Rs 20,000 for multiple violations under the Motor Vehicle Act.

The AAP MLA, however, denied the allegations and claimed they were being targeted. In a video statement, he said, “Our fight is not just against the BJP but also against the police. Yesterday, my son faced a minor issue. Police stopped a motorcycle, which wasn’t even his. They issued a Rs 20,000 challan. I’ve spoken to the ACP about it. We won’t bow down or be afraid. We’ll contest elections our way and win.”

This statement of him shows how negligent he is about the law. Being a responsible father and  AAP MLA he should have taken action for his son’s wrongdoings but he made the whole issue political and attacked the BJP to gain political mileage.

Police did not know who Anas was when they stopped him for not following the basic rules. He only called his father and threatened the police about his father’s position then only the police came to know about his affiliation. Despite following the law and helping police to enforce the law on the road, he made the whole issue APP vs BJP.

According to the police, the incident happened during a routine patrol in Okhla on Thursday night ahead of Republic Day. The AAP MLA son with his friends were caught riding on the wrong side of the road, making loud noise with a modified silencer, and driving in a zigzag manner. The police stopped them and asked for documents like the driving license and RC. One of them mentioned being the son of local MLA Amanatullah Khan and called him, making the officer talk to the SHO. The boys left without sharing their names or addresses.

Police confirmed a case had been registered under the Motor Vehicle Act, and a challan was issued. The bike was impounded, and further investigation is ongoing.
