The Indian Opposition is trying hard enough to create a brouhaha over the remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the parliamentary debate marking the 75th anniversary of the adoption and enactment of the Indian Constitution. On 17th December, HM Amit Shah lashed out at the Congress for exploiting the name of Dr. BR Ambedkar for mere political gains and betraying him by not sticking to his path/ideals. But it seems the entire Congress party is hell bent on playing its cheap politics and spin the Home Minister’s remarks and portray them as an act of disrespect towards BR Ambedkar.

Furthering the falsehoods on X, LOP Rahul Gandhi wrote, “Those who believe in Manusmriti will definitely have problems with Ambedkar ji.” The tweet, aimed at distorting the Home Minister’s remarks, falsely portrayed Amit Shah’s remarks as disrespectful toward Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. Meanwhile, given the Gandhi scion’s history of Muslim appeasement and anti-hindu  remarks, his remarks to ridicule and trivialise sacred Hindu text, Manusmriti is unsurprising.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge too went along the same path with Rahul Gandhi. He accused BJP of insulting BR Ambedkar. He remarked, “The insult that Home Minister Amit Shah has done to Baba Saheb in the House today has once again proved that BJP/ RSS were against the Tricolour, opposed the Ashoka Chakra, and wanted to implement Manusmriti instead of the Constitution. Babasaheb did not let that happen, that is why there is so much hatred towards him.”

“For crores of people like me, Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar is no less than God. He is and will always be the messiah of Dalits, tribals, backward classes, minorities, and the poor”, Mallikarjun Kharge added.

The hench-men of the opposition danced on the same beats of Rahul and Mallikarjun Kharge on social media. They went on a frezny to share trimmed clips of Amit Shah’s speech and gave it malicious spin. Moreover, the party brazenly went further to ask for resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah for his so-called ‘insulting remakrs’ about Dr. BR Ambedkar.

Separating Wheat from the Chaff: Decoding Congress’ malicious Spin doctoring clips playbook

But, do these needless brouhaha imbibe any mole of truth in itself? HM Amit Shah in his 17th December speech was clearly taking a dig at the Congress Party as he was taking it to the cleaners for their leader’s anti-reservation stance, betraying Dr. BR Ambedkar, not honouring his legacy and doing shallow politics in his name.

He underlined the hypocrisy of the opposition parties as merely using BR Ambedkar for their vote bank politics and turning blind eye when it comes to following him. No where in his entire speech did he use words to target, demean, Ambedkar or his legacy, in fact, he actually heaped praises and advocated for imbibing Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals.

Amit Shah in his address stated that invoking Ambedkar’s name had become a “fashion” among opposition parties. “There’s a fashion now of saying ‘Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar’. If one takes God’s name this many times, one would get into heaven. Take Ambedkar’s name 100 more times, but I will tell you how you really feel about Ambedkar ji.”

Then he highlighted how the inefficiency of the Congress contributed to BR Ambedkar’s resignation from the first cabinet, citing his discontent with the treatment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, disagreements over foreign policy, and Article 370. He also highlighted the comment made by then PM Jawaharlal Nehru, who remarked that Ambedkar’s exit would not weaken the cabinet and have no effect whatsoever.

The Home Minister also mentioned the efforts that have been made by the Modi-led NDA government since 2014 in order to honour the architect of the Indian Constitution. HM Shah lashed out at Congress for being opportunist and for using Ambedkar’s name to please the masses. He said, “Now that there are many who follow Ambedkar ji, you invoke his name repeatedly”.

Worst massacre against SC/ST happened under Congress regimes: PM Modi slams Congress over ‘Sins’ against Dr. Ambedkar

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi too came out to bust the lies peddled by the Congress’ Darbari ecosystem and sycophant leaders. The Congress Party has been continuously trying to weave canards around the remarks of Home Minister, Amit Shah.

In a X thread, PM Modi debunked every lie the grand old party came up with since yesterday.

He wrote, “If the Congress and its rotten ecosystem think their malicious lies can hide their misdeeds of several years, especially their insult towards Dr. Ambedkar, they are gravely mistaken! The people of India have seen time and again how one Party, led by one dynasty, has indulged in every possible dirty trick to obliterate the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar and humiliate the SC/ST communities.”

PM further added, “The list of the Congress’ sins towards Dr. Ambedkar includes: Getting him defeated in elections not once but twice. Pandit Nehru campaigning against him and making his loss a prestige issue. Denying him a Bharat Ratna. Denying his portrait a place of pride in Parliament’s Central Hall. Congress can try as they want but they can’t deny that the worst massacres against SC/ST Communities have happened under their regimes. For years, they sat in power but did nothing substantive to empower the SC and ST communities.”

He further added, “In Parliament, HM Amit Shah Ji exposed the Congress’ dark history of insulting Dr. Ambedkar and ignoring the SC/ST Communities. They are clearly stung and stunned by the facts he presented, which is why they are now indulging in theatrics! Sadly, for them, people know the truth! It is due to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar that we are what we are! Our Government has worked tirelessly to fulfil the vision of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar over the last decade. Take any sector – be it removing 25 crore people from poverty, strengthening the SC/ST Act, our Government’s flagship programmes like Swachh Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ujjwala Yojana and more, each of them has touched the lives of the poor and marginalised. Our Government has worked to develop Panchteerth, the five iconic places associated with Dr. Ambedkar. For decades, there was a pending issue on land for Chaitya Bhoomi. Not only did our Government resolve the issue, I have gone to pray there as well. We have also developed 26, Alipur Road in Delhi, where Dr. Ambedkar spent his last years. The house where he lived in London has also been acquired by the Government. When it comes to Dr. Ambedkar, our respect and reverence is absolute.”

The Congress got itself buried under the same mountain of lies it processed in order to gain political traction. Be it respecting the great architect of the Indian Constitution or be it respecting Hindu Scriptures, expecting the Congress party to honour them is like expecting Virat Kohli honouring the fourth stump ball by leaving it untouched.
