It often happens that a leader’s speech becomes the key development of the day. Same happened with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Monday. It is well-known that the issue of Sambhal is boiling in the state but very few know that Sambhal violence is not related to merely a single day or event. In fact, the Hanuman temple which reopened a couple of days ago, narrates the emotional suffering of Hindus for the last 44 years. For anyone who lives outside Sambhal this may be another communal clash but for Sambhal Hindus, the survey came with a ray of hope.

While the opposition has been spinning the well-orchestrated communal bigoted incident in Sambhal as example of crumbling law and order situation in the state, CM Yogi Adityanath and his administration is not ready to succumb to this slugfest and just like the work style of the state CM, the entire system under him is dispensing justice as justice only.

Mentioning the style of CM Yogi, the latest manifestation of it was seen in the Legislative Assembly today. CM Yogi was speaking on the issue of Sambhal during the first day of the Winter Session of the state legislature.

Without beating around the bush, CM Yogi quoted NCRB data and said that sectarian riots have reduced by 97-99 per cent under his tenure while during Samajwadi Party’s rule, 815 sectarian riots took place with 192 deaths.

Talking about Sambhal, the CM busted the opposition’s narrative which was trying to pin blame on the administration. He traced the entire history of Sambhal from 1947 explaining how the city has been marred by sectarian violence. He narrated how violence took lives in sectarian riots in 1947, 1948, 1956, 1962, 1976, 1980, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1992 and 1996. The idea behind counting the incidents was apparently to destroy the facade of Muslim victimhood. The communal riots took the lives of more than 209 Hindus in Sambhal so far, said CM Yogi.

He also came down heavily on opposition for its Muslim appeasement stating that not once anyone uttered a word for Hindus. On the part of CM Yogi it was actually necessary to outline this reality.

CM Yogi revealed that 184 Hindus were charred to death in 1978. What CM Yogi said next was chilling as he narrated the ordeal of a Hindu businessmen who used to lend money to people in Sambhal. In 1978, the rioters chopped the hands and legs of a Hindu businessman because as per them he lent the money using his hands.

Comparing the situations now and then, it is ridiculous to even say that the government is doing injustice to a particular community when they are being facilitated by an ecosystem for even stone pelting and attacking police.

Yogi further outlined that the temple which was reopened a couple of days ago has been closed since 1978 only. He also asked the opposition about who shut the 22 sacred wells in 1978.

So for those who see Sambhal as some communal clash, it is in fact a justice that is finding its way to surface under the regime of fearless Yogi Adityanath. He made it categorically clear that no arrest was being made without proof and no one will be spared.

Regarding Sambhal violence, the ecosystem spread rumour and smear campaign against the surveying party falsely alleging that slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ were raised which heightened communal tensions in the area. Incidentally, MLA Iqbal Mehboob also furthered this preposterous allegation.

CM Yogi busted the malicious hate campaign against Hindu religious and cultural slogan – Jai Shri Ram, which bigoted people want to paint as communal. He demolished such vilifying campaigns stating that from morning to evening and till death, Shri Ram name is indispensable for Hindus and thus Jai Shri Ram is religious and not some communal slogan.

‘जय श्री राम’ का नारा उत्तेजक नहीं, हमारी श्रद्धा का नारा है…

कुंदरकी की जीत, ‘सनातन’ की जीत है…भारत के संविधान की जीत है। pic.twitter.com/ttVRjk0IyC

— Yogi Adityanath (@myogiadityanath) December 16, 2024

Taking a jibe at Mehboob, CM Yogi said that if someone is getting aggressive over Jai Shri Ram, the fault lies in their intention. Notably, the efforts are being made to malign the slogan so as to equate the Hindus with terrorists and rioters who use religion as their plank and sloganeering as a war cry against ‘infidels’.

He also cornered the opposition asking what would happen if people start raising questions on the Islamic religious slogan, “Allahu-Akbar”?

Countering the hate campaign against Jai Shri Ram, CM Yogi asserted, “Ye kehna ki uttejak naare lagaye ja rahe the.. yeh uttejak naara nahi hai. Jai Shri Ram hamari sabha ka naara hai, hamari aastha ka prateek hai. Kal main aapse kahunga ki ye ‘Allahu Akbar’ ka jo slogan hai ye hume achcha nahi lagta.. aapko hum roke toh aapko acha lagega?“

When the opposition leaders mischievously suggested to him that there is no problem in Allahu Akbar and he too can raise it, CM Yogi retorted saying, “Mujhe iski avshyakta hi nahi.. Mujhe ‘Allahu Akbar’ ki avashyakta hi nahi hai. Main Jai Shri Ram, Har Har Mahadev aur Radhe Radhe bolkar zindagi kaat sakta hu!..meri toh virasat itni lambi chaudi pracheen hai, main usko hi leke chala jaun.. main Radhe Radhe ke sambodhan se hi apna poora jeevan kaat sakta hoon.. mujhe kisi aur slogan ki zarurat hi nahi hai. Lekin kal koi apse kahega, koi Hindu kahega, ki sir hume aapse pareshani hai.. kya aapko achcha lagega?“

The way CM Yogi highlighted the plight of Sambhal Hindus and busted the opposition’s agenda, CM Yogi’s speech is an eye opener as what happened 44 years back was unknown for the larger Hindu society. Many do not even know that while Muslims are getting leverage of being minority, Hindus suffered for being a majority. After Yogi Adityanath’s emergence, it has now become clear that justice and only justice will be served and not the reward of appeasement.

CM Yogi went uninterrupted only to speak on those burning issues that most leaders escape. He hinted on Bhagwan Ram, Krishna and Buddha’s teachings before saying that he is following their path. He iterated Bhagwan Ram’s oath to make earth demon free “Nishichar heen karahu main bhij uthayi...” and Bhagwan Krishna’s prophecy to come to earth to destroy the evil “Paritranaya Sadhunaam, Vinashaya cha Dushkritam... “

Moreover, he also emphasised that Buddha gave teachings at a time when the country was attacked by invaders.

Exposing the reality of masjids in Sambhal, CM Yogi made shocking revelations that on the terrace of these mosques, illegal substations were set up and power connections were being distributed. He asked why Hindu processions are attacked during their festivals while Muslim processions pass peacefully through Hindu-majority areas.

Once and for all, CM Yogi also decimated the boogie of ‘Muslim neighbourhood’ area, ‘no-go zones for Hindu religious processions’, undeclared ban on Hindu religious slogans near Masjid and Muslim dominated areas, CM categorically asked, “Why can’t Hindu processions be held in Muslim areas?”

— Yogi Adityanath (@myogiadityanath) December 16, 2024

He categorically noted, “Where is it written in the constitution that a hindu procession cannot take place in a muslim-majority area? And when you stop it, then the hindu side reacts by saying, ‘we won’t let you go either.’ I am surprised by such actions, saying that they won’t allow the procession to pass in front of a mosque. Why shouldn’t they allow it? Is the road anyone’s private property? These are public roads. How can you stop it”.

He emphasised that in Sambhal the fight was between the Turks and Pathan which was seen in Kundarki bypolls also. He said that Turks never call themselves Indians, instead they refer to themselves as descendents of Babur adding, “this must be understood that in India the tradition will be of Bhagwan Ram, Krishna and Buddha not Babar or Aurangzeb.”
