Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has come out with another threat for the Hindu community. This time he has warned that any Hindu who celebrates any Diwali related events with firecrackers, whether at home or in temples should be countered and stopped by Sikhs.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is a dual citizen of USA and Canada, widely regarded as one of the main leaders of the terrorist Khalistan movement. He is also the legal advisor and spokesperson for Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). The Sikhs for Justice was banned in India in 2019. As of July 2020, the Ministry of Home Affairs of India has declared Pannun a terrorist on the grounds of sedition and secessionism, and has even requested an Interpol red notice for him.
In a video surfacing on social media the extremist Pannun said, “To all Hindus and temple authorities in Punjab: No Hindu temple, no Hindu brothers or sisters, and no Hindu household should engage in any firework displays. It is the responsibility of the Sikh youth in Punjab to ensure this. First, request politely, and if needed, enforce it in the traditional Khalsa way—no fireworks should be allowed in any temple.”
By his mention of “enforcing” the traditional Khalsa way, Pannun has indicated violent and/or aggressive means to stop Hindus from celebrating their festival.

Pannun’s Terror Activities
Pannun has claimed responsibility for various terror incidents in India. In April 2023, in a video, he issued a threat to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
In October 2023, Pannun threatened to carry out a Hamas-like attack on India against the backdrop of the Israel-Palestine war. Pannun has released hundreds of videos attacking India and offering monetary rewards to people who write anti-India graffiti or hoist Khalistan flags on government buildings or desecrate the Indian flag.
In September 2023, he was recorded calling for the “political death” of Prime Minister Modi and two of his ministers. Pannun has also claimed responsibility for posters which read “kill India” along with the names and pictures of Indian diplomats. The act endangered the lives of Indian officials who had to be eventually recalled.
In September 2023, a video surfaced in which Pannun warned Indo-Canadian Hindus to leave Canada, further accusing them of having “repudiated their allegiance to Canada.”
Pannun has also regularly given threats of bombing Air India flights. In many such videos he appears and reads out dates he asks Sikhs not to board planes in India, as they will be targeted by Khalistanis.
