Islamic fundamentalism, Marxism…Why Indians consider Donald Trump as ‘their own’

People in India have reasons to celebrate Trump's victory

Donald Trump declaring “magnificent victory” to his supporters in Florida already has its positive effects in India with the stock market going up and the people in general expressing happiness over the political developments in the US.

Talking to his supporters, the former president who is once again ready to take over the charge, said, “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate”.

Videos of people asking each other why Indians are so happy on Trump winning the US election, could be seen on various social media platforms.

Trump’s good relations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the fact that he supports India and its people could be termed as one of the reasons of Indians celebrating his win in the US presidential election of 2024.

Trump, who is also known for his ‘America First’ policy, has supported Hindus world over by condemning violence against the community in Bangladesh and elsewhere.

Trump’s ‘America First’ policy is for the locals, and this along with his promise of expelling illegal immigrants from the US, has worked in his favor.

During his election campaign, the former US president frequently vowed to carry out the “largest deportation” effort in US history.

“(I) would marshal every federal and state power necessary to institute the largest deportation operation of illegal criminals, drug dealers, and human traffickers,” he was quoted as saying.

Why India/Indians like Donald Trump

Besides Trump’s good relations with Modi and his supportive statements for Hindus and India on various occasions, he is also liked by people in India for his nature of being an outspoken leader.

People, it seems, finds him interesting as he speaks his mind without holding himself back even on issues of international importance. Indians relates this habit of his with that of Modi’s, who is also known for his clear stand on important issues.

Also, there could be three main points that connect Trump to the people of India in general and Hindus in particular.

First, Trump’s opposition to Marxism, second, his stance against radical Islamic terrorism. Third, Wokeism i.e. acting contrary to one’s own culture in the race to look modern.

First of all, let us talk about Marxism. It is a known fact that in India we all have been suffering from Marxism, we are a society suffering from leftist ideology. They taught history to many of our generations in such a way that we praise the Islamic invaders but are full of inferiority complex about our own kings and emperors.

They projected us an uncivilized society and the invaders those who came from Central Asia and Europe gave us the right way of living.

That is one of the reasons that Indians oppose Marxism.

If you watch Donald Trump’s rallies, you will find that he has constantly addressed Kamala Harris as ‘Comrade’. Trump

tried his best to prove that Harris was a leftist.

The liberal gang of America calls it Red-Baiting, that is, to defame someone by associating him with the left. Red is the favorite color of the leftists. In India too, the leaders of the leftist parties greet each other by saying ‘Laal Salaam’.

The people of India, especially Hindus, do not like these leftist parties.

Tripura, the stronghold of leftists, has already collapsed and the influence of BJP is increasing in Kerala.

Currently, the ABVP is also putting in full efforts in JNU. The last forts of the left are also going to collapse in the next few years.

In fact, while the Cold War between America and the Soviet Union was going on, America was under the shadow of the ‘Red Scare’.

There has been a feeling of opposition to the leftists there.

Apart from this, the elderly people of America have witnessed the Cold War. Had the Soviet Union not broken up, America would probably not have been the biggest superpower today.

These elderly people still hate Russia. In their eyes, communism is a bad concept. Since there was a close contest between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris in this election, the former found it profitable to attract a section of voters by opposing communism.

On top of that, Trump is also an industrialist and he has the support of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk.

Marxist ideology promotes the idea of snatching away wealth from the rich, so it is natural for Donald Trump to go against Marxism. The second point that connects Donald Trump to Indian society is – radical Islamic terrorism.

India has been suffering the Islamic terrorism. Even today innocent people are being killed in Kashmir and other parts of India by terrorists nurtured by Pakistan.

In Bangladesh, Islamic fundamentalists forced Hindus to migrate.

Apart from this, after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, the world witnessed Sikhs returning to India with the holy Guru Granth Sahib on their foreheads. Be it the 26/11 Mumbai attack or the Uri and the Pathankot attacks, Islamic terrorism has inflicted many wounds on India. In such a situation, the country naturally consider those who oppose Islamic terrorism as well-wishers.

This is also a reason for the sympathy of Indian society with Israel.

Trump, during his first stint as the US the President, had openly said in ‘Howdy Modi’ in Houston that the US and India will continue to fight together against radical Islamic terrorism.

It was during Trump’s tenure that ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed.

Following this, Trump’s speech also went viral, wherein he mentioned that Baghdadi was killed like a dog.

People of India like this kind of language against Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism.

Trump had also asked the public before the election whether they want a president who allows thousands of Islamic fundamentalists to enter the US.
