7-2: Led by CM Yogi, NDA Dominates Uttar Pradesh by-polls, lays ghost of Lok Sabha setback to rest

Apart from an imminent resounding victory in Maharashtra, the saffron surge is also being witnessed in the by-poll elections of Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of its Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Out of the nine assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh that went into the by-polls, BJP-led by NDA is leading in a total of seven seats while the Samajwadi Party is ahead on two. Phulpur, Ghaziabad, Majhawan, Khair, Kundarki, and Katehari are the assembly constituencies that are being dominated by the BJP as far as current election numbers are concerned. BJP’s alliance partner Rashtriya Lok Dal, is leading from Meerapur making the NDA get an impressive hold of seven constituencies out of nine.

In the 2022 assembly elections, SP won four seats namely Sisamau, Katehari, Karhal, and Kundarki while the BJP secured Phulpur, Ghaziabad, Majhawan, and Khair, and the RLD held the Mirapur seat.

This time, the NDA has made significant gains compared to previous elections. In all the seven constituencies, NDA candidates have made significant leads. RLD’s candidate Mithlesh Pal is leading in Mirapur by 19785 votes over SP’s Sumbul Rana.

Kundarki: BJP’s Ramveer Singh has a massive 98537 vote lead in Kundarki over Samajwadi Party’s Mohammad Rizwan.

Ghaziabad: BJP’s Sanjeev Sharma is ahead of SP’s Singh Raj Jatav by 63563 votes.

Khair: BJP’s SURENDER DILER leads by 38251 votes against Samajwadi Party’s candidate Charu Kain.

BJP’s candidates are also ahead in Phulpur, Katehari, and Majhawan, with leads of 9083, 8215, and 5002 votes, respectively.

This victory of BJP in the by-polls is significant for the saffron party given its setback from Uttar Pradesh in the 2024 General Elections.
