Bangladesh detains ISKCON priest and Hindu leader Krishna Das Prabhu

Yunus regime panders to the radicals, continues opression of the Hindu community

It has been reported that Bangladeshi authorities have made a drastic move against minority Hindus. This time the governmental authorities have detained Hindu religious leader and ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, aka Krishna Das Prabhu, at the Dhaka Airport. He has reportedly also been barred from leaving Bangladesh and is currently at an undisclosed location.

Nearly two weeks after tensions erupted in Bangladesh following a social media post criticising the ISKCON temple, the authorities have now taken this extreme step to clamp down on the any leader protesting for Hindu rights. According to multiple media reports, Krishna Das Prabhu was detained by the Bangladeshi detective branch. Although there were have been no official details from the Muhammed Yunus-led government.

Information and Broadcasting Ministry official Kanchan Gupta took to the social media platform X to announce the prominent Bangladeshi Hindu religious leader’s arrest and informed that the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) monk has been detained on sedition charges.

Taking to X Kanchan Gupta wrote, “Hindu leader and ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari is reported arrested in Dhaka by Yunus (Nobel laureate and economist Muhammad Yunus) regime Police. Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari was charged with sedition after he led a massive rally of Hindus protesting targeted hate attacks and demanding protection from Islamists. Tallest leader of the Hindu community, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari is believed to have been taken to Detective Branch of Yunus Regime.”

Meanwhile, Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has also urged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to take cognizance of the issue and take “urgent steps”.

Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen also joined in demanding why the Yunus government is not doing anything to protect the Hindu community who are being threatened by Jihadists, “While such large rallies are being held by the Hindus, instead of Yunus Sahib sitting down with them to listen to and address their demands, he has gone ahead and arrested their leader Chinmoy Krishna Das without any prior notice. The Hindus have carried out peaceful rallies, harming no one, nor attacking anyone. On the contrary, they have been threatened and attacked by Jihadists. In the Hindu areas of Chittagong, even after the army and police entered, they broke the CCTV cameras under the cover of darkness and attacked the Hindus.”

“The more the Hindus try to survive, the more arrangements are made to annihilate them. The more they speak out, the more attempts are made to silence them. The more they demand their rights, the more those rights are being taken away. Yunus’s government is also involved in the conspiracy to make Bangladesh devoid of Hindus, just like Khaleda and Hasina.” she added.
