The situation is becoming increasingly hostile for Canadian Hindus, with rising Hinduphobia and the growing influence of Khalistani radicals in Canada. With both the Liberals and Conservatives bowing to Khalistani radicals, Hindus find themselves isolated. After Khalistani radicals crossed the line on November 3rd, the Hindu community in Canada has no one to turn to for assistance.
On the 3rd of November, the Khalistani radicals intruded into the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Canada and attacked the Hindu devotees. They did not even spare women. Initially the Khalistani radicals were raising Anti-India slogans outside the Hindu Sabha Temple to mark the 1984 anti-sikh riots in Punjab and when the Hindu community protested against those slogans, the radicals forcefully entered the Hindu Temple and attacked the Hindu devotees including women.
The most shocking part about the whole incident was the response of the Peel regional police. The Peel regional police who had arrived on the scene along with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), instead of arresting the violent Khalistani radicals went up to blame and attack the Hindu devotees while protecting the Khalistani radicals who had come to attack the Hindu Temple. A footage circulating across social media shows a police officer moving into the crowd, targeting Hindu devotees, striking them with batons, and punching some in the head.
#BREAKING: Canadian Police in Brampton attack Hindu worshipers instead of arresting Khalistani extremist goons who violently attacked Hindus inside a Hindu Temple. This is Peel Regional Police. Do they have orders by Justin Trudeau to attack Indians? On payrolls of Khalistanis? pic.twitter.com/LPfwdczNia

The Canadian Organization for Hindu Heritage Education criticized the Peel Police for failing to provide adequate security measures, despite an earlier request from the Hindu Federation, a shortfall they argued reflects a troubling “Hinduphobia” within the police force.
On October 30, 2024, the Hindu Federation sent an urgent letter to the police, requesting increased protection for temples from October 31 to November 2 due to Diwali festivities. Despite this, adequate security was not arranged for the Hindu temple, even though it was publicly known that a consular service was scheduled there on November 3.
The Canadian member of parliament, Chandrakanth Arya, who represents the riding of Nepean in the House of commons took to twitter to write “ A red line has been crossed by Canadian Khalistani extremists today. The attack by Khalistanis on the Hindu-Canadian devotees inside the premises of the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton shows how deep and brazen has Khalistani violent extremism has become in Canada. I begin to feel that there is a small grain of truth in the reports that in addition to Canadian political apparatus, Khalistanis have effectively infiltrated into our law enforcement agencies. No wonder that under the ‘freedom of expression’ Khalistani extremists are getting a free pass in Canada.
As I have been saying for long, Hindu-Canadians, for the security and safety of our community, need to step up and asserts their rights and hold politicians accountable.
The response of the Peel police was shocking without an iota of doubt but the responses to the incident by the Canadian leaders stood in the same line. No Canadian politician, be it from the liberal or Conservative party had the guts to call out the Khalistani radicals. Even though the identity of the attackers were crystal clear, rarely did any Canadian Politician hold the collar of Khalistani extremists while condemning the Hindu Sabha Temple incident.
The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who has been providing the safest of heaven to Khalistani extremists in order to nurture his vote bank for his vested political interest downplayed the whole incident by not naming the culprits of the violence. He wrote on twitter “The acts of violence at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today are unacceptable. Every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely. Thank you to the Peel Regional Police for swiftly responding to protect the community and investigate this incident.”

Not only did the Canadian PM hesitate to call out the Khalistanis but also thanked the Peel Regional police who sidelined Khalistanis and thrashed the Hindu devotees instead of protecting them.
Pierre Poilievre, the leader of the Conservative Party and the leader of the official opposition too moved along the same path with Justin Trudeau and surprisingly failed to notice the Khalistani hand in the whole incident. He tweeted “Completely unacceptable to see violence targeting worshippers at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today. All Canadians should be free to practice their faith in peace. Conservatives condemn this violence unequivocally. I will unite our people and end the chaos.”

Like Justin Trudeau and Pierre Poilievre, the known Khalistani sympathizer Jagmeet Singh, Shiv Majumdar, Sonia Sidhu, Anita Anand, Arpan Khanna, Patrick Brown, Dipika Damerla all had the same tone while condemning the Brampton incident.
The High Commission of India in Ottawa issued a statement condemning the incident. It said “We have seen violent disruption today (Nov 3) orchestrated by anti-India elements outside the consular camp co-organized with the Hindu Sabha Mandir, Brampton, near Toronto. It is deeply disappointing to see such disruptions being allowed for routine consular work being organized by our Consulates with the fullest cooperation of local co-organizers. We also remain very concerned for the safety of applicants, including Indian nationals, on whose demand such events are organized in the first place.”
The statement also highlighted concerns for the safety of Indian nationals and referenced similar attempts to disrupt consular camps held in Vancouver and Surrey on November 2-3.
The violent attack by Khalistani extremists at Hindu Sabha Mandir is not an isolated incident but is part of a worrisome trend that has been fueled by the leniency of the Canadian Government towards anti-India activities. Anti-India protests, including the burning of the Indian flag that are orchestrated by Khalistani extremists on a regular basis go unchallenged and thus emboldened these groups. This lack of serious action allowed extremists to gain courage and feel secure enough to enter a Hindu temple and launch violent attacks on Hindu devotees including women.
The Canadian Government must be held responsible as by allowing these anti-india activities to go unchecked, the government has contributed to an atmosphere that puts the safety of the Canadian Hindus at risk.
It is pertinent to note that while the US has also strained ties with India over the alleged failed assassination plot against Khalistani terrorist Pannun, he had recently threatened attacks on Hindu temples. Now that his threat has, in reality, materialized in action, both the US and the Canadian governments should smell the coffee before it is too late even for them. They should not forget the infamous episode when Trudeau senior was at the helm and how he gaslighted India’s security concerns, threat warnings for which Canadians had to pay a heavy price for his political gamble. Going into the election year, both conservatives and Liberals should remember that they are hobnobbing with Khalistanis at their own peril.
