Tension rises as Iran seemingly prepares to launch missiles against Israel

The world is worried amid reports suggesting that Iran’s preparing to attack Israel using ballistic missiles.

“The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel,” a senior White House official, who did not wish to be named was quoted as saying in media reports.

Meanwhile, Iran vowed to revenge Nasrallah’s killing, saying it would bring about Israel’s “destruction.

In April, the US and other western countries came forward to help Israel against a combined Iranian missile and drone attack, which was a retaliation from Tehran for an Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

According to reports, the US has warned Iran, saying any military attack on Israel would have “severe consequences” for Iran.

The Israel Defense Forces has launched “targeted ground raids” against Hezbollah at several locations of southern Lebanon. Israel is doing it amid growing international calls for a de-escalation.

Ground operations were backed by airstrikes and artillery attacks in places close to Israel’s northern border.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also issued a warning to Iran, there’s “no place” in the Middle East which is beyond Israel’s reach. In a video message, Netanyahu also appealed to the Iranian people and said his country wants to live in peace with Iran.

Iran foreign ministry had said Israel’s “crimes” will not go unpunished and it will respond at a time and place of its own choosing. Tehran said it does not want a full-scale war but is not afraid of it.

Hezbollah’s deputy chief Naim Kassem vowed to continue fighting Israel and said the group is prepared to face a long war despite losing a string of top commanders to Israel’s strikes. Kassem also said their fighters would defend Lebanon in case of a ground invasion by Israel.
