Police Arrest Suspect in Durga Idol Vandalism Case in Hyderabad 

A person who allegedly vandalised the Maa Durga Idol at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad city of Telangana on 10th of October has been arrested. The individual in question, recognized as Krishnaiah Goud, hails from the Nagarkurnool district in the state. 

As per the statements of Central Zone DCP Akshansh Yadav, Goud, who is afflicted with mental health challenges, confessed to the act of vandalizing the idol following an emotional breakdown triggered by his inability to procure food at a Puja pandal located at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds.

DCP Akshansh Yadav mentioned “Krishnaiah Goud admitted to coming to the exhibition grounds in search of food. Failing to find any, he experienced a breakdown and, in his unstable mental condition, proceeded to damage the mandapam and the idol of Goddess Durga,”. 

Goddess Durga’s idol vandalised amid Navratri celebrations

An unfortunate incident took place at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad city of Telangana on 10th of October, Thursday where the idol of Ma Durga was found vandalised during the Devi Sharan Navaratri celebrations in the city. The miscreant broke down one of the arm of Maa Dunga also threw away the items related to the Navratri Puja ceremony. After being alerted to the incident, cops from the Begum Bazar police station quickly arrived at the scene to carry out an investigation.
