Maharashtra government’s scheme – ‘Ladla Bhai Yojana’, focuses on the overall welfare of the young boys of the state by granting them financial assistance as they study and providing an opportunity to undergo a one-year apprenticeship in a factory to gain valuable work experience, was launched in July this year after its successful sister concern ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ – the scheme for girls.
The scheme, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, provides various financial benefits to the youth based on their educational qualifications.
Boys who pass 12th grade receive rupees 6,000 per month, those pursuing a diploma receive rupees 8,000 per month, and graduate youth will receive rupees 10,000 per month from the government.
Under the scheme for boys in the state, youth also undergo a one-year apprenticeship that would help them earn valuable work experience.
Shinde, while inaugurating the scheme, had said that the initiative aims to prepare a skilled workforce.
“The scheme will provide skilled youth not only to the state’s industries but also to those across the country. The government will pay the youth during their apprenticeship to help them become proficient in their jobs,” Shinde was quoted as saying.
The Chief Minister also said that the initiative is a historic first, aimed at addressing unemployment.
