Head of anti Hindu violence, Mamman Khan wins by over 1 lakh votes; all seats in Nuh witness Muslim polarization

The BJP may have registered a big victory in Haryana and come to power for a historic third time, but one result in a certain region will definitely set some alarm bells ringing. The region is Mewat, in the Firozpur Jhirka Vidhan sabha region, Mamman Khan has registered a huge victory. Mamman Khan is the person who was named in the riots in Nuh. The same person has now registered a resounding victory by over one lakh votes. This is the biggest margin of victory by a candidate in the current Haryana elections.

Who is Mamman Khan? Mamman is the same person who was arrested by the Haryana police and sent to jail. He was later granted bail by the Lower court leading the Haryana government to take the case to the High court. It must not be forgotten that many people died in the clashes instigated by him, while over 100 were injured, resulting in over 61 FIR’s. The Police informed that Mamman Khan had held an anti hindu rally and his provocations led to the clashes.

In the High court, the Haryana government had named Mamman as the chief instigator of the clashes. In the FIR Mamman Khan has been accused of giving hateful speeches against communities and also using explosives. Mamman Khan had earlier been spotted with Rahul Gandhi during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.

The Haryana government had informed that Mamman Khan plotted the entire violence. The SIT had arrested him from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. SP Narendra Bijaraniya said that Mamman Khan was connected to the violence that took place at Barkali Chowk. He also informed that Mamman Khan was in contact with the rioters and his location was also found at the same place. After his arrest, a large area of Nuh had to be sealed and Section 144 had to be imposed. More than 500 arrests were made in the corresponding Nuh violence. The entire area of Nuh, Mewat is notorious for increasing cases of ‘love jihad’ and violence against Hindus. Incidents of Islamic fundamentalism have been on a constant upward trajectory in Mewat.

The then Home Minister of Haryana, Anil Vij, had also said that evidence had been found against Mamman Khan. It should be noted that in July 2023, a Muslim mob attacked the Nalhad Shiv temple in Nuh. The Jal abhishek Yatra could not be held. The mob even entered the hospital and vandalized it. People trapped there informed that some of the attackers were minor boys. There was firing on the temple from the hills, along with slogans of ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’ and ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. A crowd of about 4000 devotees had to flee for their lives in the mayhem.

Like Mamman Khan, Congress’s Aftab Ahmed has won from Nuh assembly constituency by about 47,000 votes. This shows that even though BJP fielded Muslim candidates in Mewat, Muslims did not support the party and instead voted to defeat the BJP. Similarly, Congress’s Mohammad Ilyas won from Punhana, here too the Muslim candidate of BJP had to face defeat. The three assembly seats of Nuh fell comfortably in the hands of Congress’ Muslim candidates.
