Goddess Durga’s idol vandalised amid Navratri celebrations

An unfortunate incident took place at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad city of Telangana on 10th of October, Thursday where the idol of Ma Durga was found vandalised during the Devi Sharan Navaratri celebrations in the city. 

After being alerted to the incident, cops from the Begum Bazar police station quickly arrived at the scene to carry out an investigation. Reports suggest that the extremists responsible for the vandalism first disconnected the electricity supply and disabled the CCTV cameras. 

Subsequently, they damaged the barricades and broke the arm of the idol of Maa Durga. They also threw away the items related to the Navratri Puja ceremony. As of now, the individuals behind this act of vandalism remain unidentified.

ACP Chandra Shekhar informed that FIR has been registered and the probe is underway and the police has deployed a large contingent of force at the Nampally Exhibition Ground to prevent further incidents
