Kejriwal’s controversial Sheesh Mahal: who gets it as he steps down

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would have to leave his dream bungalow, which he got renovated with lots of personal interest and a huge sum of money of tax payers.

It’s an irony that Kejriwal could not stay in the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ as he had to go to jail in the cases related to now-scrapped excise policy of his government.

Now, as he has resigned, he would have to vacate it within the given timeframe.

A huge controversy broke out last year over as started renovating the chief minister’s official residence.

It turned into a crisis after it was alleged that he spent Rs 45 crore on the renovation of his government bungalow.

The Congress, however, said that the amount spent on Kejriwal’s residence was Rs 171 crore and not Rs 45 crore as his government had to buy additional flats for officers whose houses had to be either demolished or vacated for the expansion of the complex.

Kejriwal was accused of faking a simple lifestyle and spending crores on his residence.

Meanwhile, according to reports, Kejriwal might leave his bungalow in the next 15 days.
