Honored to announce that the Dadasaheb Phalke Selection Jury has decided to award legendary actor Mithun Chakraborty for his iconic contributions to Indian cinema.”.
Mithun, 74, will be receiving the Award at 70th National Film Awards ceremony on 8 October 2024. The highest tribute to his illustrious career which touches four decades or more. His first appearance was seen in the great film, “Mrigayaa” by Mrinal Sen which gave him a National Award. His other genre of dancing and acting, most notably in “Disco Dancer”, it branded him as the “Disco King,” and this cemented him in the minds of every Indian household.
He portrayed different characters in his versatile films. Between the 80s and the 90s, Mithun found to be an image in Bollywood – an industry that valued his perseverance and constant performances.
