“Arvind Kejriwal might go into a coma”, said Sanjay Singh. But Why?

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Tihar jail authorities are locked in a fierce debate over Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s health. AAP has raised serious alarms about Kejriwal’s weight loss and fluctuating sugar levels, while prison officials maintain he’s in good condition.

Kejriwal’s Health Worries Escalate

AAP leaders have voiced grave concerns about Kejriwal’s well-being in Tihar jail:

Delhi minister Atishi claimed Kejriwal’s blood sugar dropped below 50 mg/dL multiple times since his arrest. This is particularly worrying as Kejriwal suffers from Type 2 diabetes.
Sanjay Singh, AAP MP, reported Kejriwal lost 8.5 kg, now weighing 61.5 kg compared to 70 kg at arrest. This significant weight loss has sparked fears among party members.
They suspect a sinister plot to harm Kejriwal’s health permanently, pointing fingers at the BJP-led central government.

Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy. He’s been in Tihar since April 1, except for a brief release during election campaigning in May.

Tihar’s Stance on Kejriwal’s Condition

Tihar officials strongly reject AAP’s claims about Kejriwal’s health:

They report Kejriwal lost only 2 kg, not 8.5 kg as claimed by AAP.
According to their records, Kejriwal’s weight was 65 kg on April 1, 64 kg on May 10, and currently stands at 61.5 kg.
They attribute the minor weight loss to possible lower food intake or reduced calorie consumption.
Kejriwal receives home-cooked meals thrice daily, ensuring he gets proper nutrition.
His vitals are normal and he’s under constant medical supervision by a board from AIIMS.

The jail superintendent stated Kejriwal’s “blood sugar is being monitored as advised from the medical board and he is being provided treatment and diet as advised.” This statement aims to reassure the public about Kejriwal’s care in custody.

AAP’s Fierce Response to Tihar’s Report

Sanjay Singh criticized Tihar for releasing an inmate’s medical report, calling it a “crime.” He emphasized several points:

The report confirms Kejriwal’s blood sugar dropped several times, validating AAP’s concerns.
Low sugar levels could lead to serious complications like coma or brain stroke.
He urged Prime Minister Modi not to jeopardize Kejriwal’s life, implying political motivations behind Kejriwal’s treatment.

Kejriwal’s Ongoing Legal Battle

While the health debate rages on, Kejriwal remains behind bars. The Supreme Court has granted him interim bail in the ED case, but he’s still detained in a corruption case related to the alleged liquor policy scam investigated by the CBI.

BJP’s Take on Kejriwal’s Health Claims

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva accused AAP of creating drama to secure Kejriwal’s bail. He suggested the party is trying to mislead the court, dismissing their health concerns as a ploy for sympathy.

Previous Health Concerns for Kejriwal

This isn’t the first time AAP has raised health alarms for Kejriwal:

– In April, they claimed he lost 4.5 kg in ED custody, sparking initial worries.
– Atishi reported his sugar levels dropped to a dangerous 46 mg/dL during that time.
– Tihar officials denied these claims, saying his weight remained stable at 65 kg.

The Ongoing Debate Over Kejriwal’s Health

As the controversy continues, Kejriwal’s health remains a contentious issue between AAP and Tihar authorities. The party insists on serious health risks, while the jail maintains Kejriwal is receiving proper care.

AAP leaders argue that the sudden weight loss and frequent drops in blood sugar levels could have long-term consequences for Kejriwal’s health. They demand more transparency and better medical care for the Delhi CM.

On the other hand, Tihar authorities stand firm on their position. They assert that Kejriwal is under round-the-clock medical supervision and receives all necessary care. They’ve also accused AAP of spreading misinformation to gain public sympathy.

The situation has caught public attention, with many questioning the conditions in which political prisoners are held. As Kejriwal’s case continues, his health remains a focal point of political and public discourse.
