Sanjay Singh joins TJP – Tihar Jail Party!

In a surprising turn of events, the Tihar Jail division of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has welcomed a new member, none other than Sanjay Singh, fondly nicknamed “Ticket Blackiya” for his past endeavors as a movie ticket black marketer. Singh, known not only for his ticket-touting escapades but also for his remarkable wrestling skills displayed in the Parliament, has now found himself in a rather precarious situation.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently made a splash by arresting AAP MP Sanjay Singh following an extensive 10-hour-long raid at his Delhi residence. This operation was part of a larger investigation into a money laundering case linked to Delhi’s liquor policy. As the dust settled, it became clear that Singh’s arrest was a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

Notably, the ED chose the day of the Supreme Court’s scheduled hearing for former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia’s bail plea to conduct these raids. Reports from Times Now hinted at simultaneous raids being carried out at various locations apart from Singh’s residence.

The drama unfolded early in the morning when the ED team arrived at the AAP MP’s doorstep at around 7 AM. In response to the raids, a group of AAP supporters gathered outside Singh’s residence, chanting slogans against the ED and the Central government.

Sanjay Singh’s name had already made numerous appearances in the ED’s charge sheet. According to the document, Dinesh Arora, who later became an approver, met Arvind Kejriwal in the presence of Singh. Arora provided a statement to the ED, indicating that he first encountered Singh at an event, subsequently coming into contact with Sisodia.

The ED’s statement reads, “He (Dinesh Arora) initially met Sanjay Singh through whom he came in contact with Manish Sisodia during a party at his own restaurant, namely Unplugged Courtyard. On request of Sanjay Singh, he spoke with many of the restaurant owners and arranged cheques amounting to Rs 32 lakh (handed over to Sisodia) for collection of party funds for upcoming elections in Delhi.”

However, it appears that Arvind Kejriwal had reserved his theatrics for this precise moment. Addressing the media after Singh’s arrest, Kejriwal passionately declared, “AAP is a staunch honest party. We all know that the path of honesty is difficult. If we will become dishonest like them, then all of our problems will be resolved… More than 1,000 raids have been conducted in this liquor case, and several people have been arrested, but they are not able to recover even a single penny… PM Modi is involved in corruption from tip to toe. I think after independence, PM Modi is the most corrupt PM of our country…” Irony at its finest.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal labeled the arrest of party leader Sanjay Singh by the Enforcement Directorate as “totally illegal” and pointed fingers at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “frustration.” He went on to claim that many more opposition leaders would be arrested in the lead-up to the elections.

In summary, Sanjay Singh’s journey from “Ticket Blackiya” to an ED arrest has taken some unexpected twists and turns. As the investigation unfolds, the political landscape in Delhi seems to be heating up, with Arvind Kejriwal leading the charge in defending his party and its members.
