Mastermind of Pathankot attack Shahid Latif neutralized

Once upon a time, I heard a line in the movie “D Day” that seems to echo a new reality today: “Jabse America ne Osama ko maara hai, inko lagta hai Pakistan nahin koi Municipality ka Garden Hai. Bas, andar jaao aur phool todke leke aao!” It looks like this quote is coming to life, as dreaded terrorist Shahid Latif, released by the Congress-led UPA, met his end in a mosque in Pakistan at the hands of an unknown shooter.

Shahid Latif, the mastermind behind the 2016 Pathankot attack that claimed the lives of ten soldiers, had a long history of involvement in criminal activities. Back in 1994, Shahid Latif was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir on charges related to narcotics and terrorism. Even in the face of several attempts by the hijackers of IC814 in 1999, who demanded the release of Rashid Latif, the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led government firmly refused to comply.

In 2010, the UPA government chose to release him as a goodwill gesture, along with other terrorists who had been accused of orchestrating the Samjhauta Express blasts. The motive behind this move was to promote their controversial narrative of ‘Saffron Terror.’ Unfortunately, Shahid Latif’s case is not an isolated incident, as the past six months have been a nightmare for anti-Indian elements worldwide.

In a seemingly synchronized effort, extremists from around the globe are being apprehended or neutralized. This includes the arrest of Harpreet Singh, also known as ‘Happy Malaysia,’ at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi upon his arrival from Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, the arrest of Goldy Brar, the mastermind behind Sidhu Moose Wala’s criminal activities, took place in California.

The series of actions extend into Pakistan, where the notorious gangster-turned-terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda suddenly passed away in a Lahore hospital, reportedly due to a ‘drug overdose.’ Furthermore, Paramjeet Singh Panjwar, a key figure in the Khalistan Commando Force, was assassinated outside his hideout in Lahore.

Not even the associates of Hafiz Saeed have been spared. As far as we know, the last confirmed sighting of Maulana Masood Azhar was in early 2019, and since then, he has remained in obscurity. The crackdown has reached other corners as well. Hizbul Mujahideen’s ‘launching chief,’ Bashir Ahmad Peer, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Syed Khalid Raza, a close associate of notorious extremist Syed Salahuddin, met a similar fate in Karachi. Zahoor Ibrahim Mistry, the hijacker of the Indian Airlines flight in 1999, was also eliminated in a somewhat similar manner.

So, in these times of uncertainty, we find ourselves left with a mysterious question: Who are the “shadow soldiers” behind these developments, quietly working to safeguard peace and security? While we may never fully uncover the truth, one thing is certain – there seems to be a global effort to bring those who threaten the peace and stability of the Indian subcontinent to justice, and our Bharat seems to be at the forefront of it.
