Alliance between Khalistanis and Manipur seperatists?

When the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) labeled Canada as a ‘safe haven for terrorists,’ many were left astounded by this accusation. Some even questioned the sanity of the Foreign Ministry for making such a bold claim. However, as days go by, evidence is piling up to suggest that the MEA might have been right all along.

If you still find it hard to believe, let us present some compelling evidence. Recent reports have surfaced concerning a meeting between leaders of Manipuri tribal associations and Khalistan supporters in Surrey, Canada. These developments have sent shockwaves through Indian intelligence agencies.

One of the key figures in this concerning connection is Lien Gangte, the President of the Canada chapter of the North American Manipur Tribal Association (NAMTA). His presence at the Surrey Gurudwara, under the control of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, has raised alarms. The gurudwara appears to have been turned into a base for anti-India activities.

During his visit to the gurudwara last month, Gangte openly discussed what he referred to as “atrocities on minorities” in India and the alleged mistreatment they were facing. He went on to urge the Canadian government to condemn what he termed as human rights violations in India and also called for the Indian government to be held accountable. Furthermore, the NAMTA president sought support from pro-Khalistani groups to organize protest rallies in the United States.

Indian intelligence agencies have claimed that following Gangte’s speech, Nijjar’s supporters held a meeting with members of NAMTA. This development is deeply concerning, as it suggests a growing nexus between separatist groups.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, the U.S. chapter of NAMTA posted on a social media platform (formerly Twitter), stating: “Our very own Lien Gangte, NAMTA Canada president, sharing with Surrey gurdwara community. Thank you to our Sikh family for standing with our cause, our Kuki Zomi community in Manipur, India.”

It’s worth noting that NAMTA is primarily a Kuki-majority separatist organization, led by an influential Christian family of Manipuri descent, the Pudaites. The Pudaites oversee an extensive network of churches in Northeast India under the Evangelical Free Church of India (EFCI). The question that arises is whether this connection is merely coincidental.

At this point, it would not be unjust to assert that various forces with the intention to dismantle India have joined hands. From Khalistan supporters to separatist Manipuri tribal associations, it seems that there is a coordinated effort against Hindu India. The concern doesn’t lie in the diversity of these groups but in their shared goal of destabilizing India.

The Indian government has a significant role to play in monitoring and addressing these developments. It’s crucial to gather concrete evidence of any illegal activities or associations and to work closely with international counterparts, including the Canadian government, to tackle this growing threat.

Furthermore, the Indian diaspora and community leaders in Canada need to be vigilant and ensure that their platforms are not misused to propagate anti-India sentiments or support separatist movements. The values of tolerance, diversity, and peaceful coexistence should be upheld by all.

The recent revelations of ties between Manipuri tribal associations and Khalistan supporters in Canada are deeply concerning. While it may have seemed incredulous at first, mounting evidence suggests that there is a substantial issue that demands attention. It is imperative for both the Indian government and the Indian community in Canada to work together to address this issue and ensure the security and stability of both nations. The threat may be complex, but with collaboration and vigilance, it can be effectively mitigated.
