Unacademy spews venom against the recent legal reforms

Unacademy, a prominent e-learning platform, has once again stirred controversy with its recent actions, further fueling debates about its intentions and the narratives it promotes. The Central Government’s recent introduction of three groundbreaking legal bills has been a significant step in redefining the legal landscape of the nation. Under the banner of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and The Bharatiya Sakshya, these bills aim to replace the British-era Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and Indian Evidence Act, respectively. However, amidst this discourse, an educator named Karan Sangwan, associated with the renowned e-learning platform Unacademy, made his stance on the legal reforms abundantly clear. Sangwan’s controversial video clip captured him urging students to vote for “educated politicians.” He went on to praise the British colonizers for crafting what he deemed a “beautifully drafted” statute, while criticizing the government’s decision to replace the existing legal framework.
