The rising concerns in Punjab are multifaceted. The state has recently emerged as a nexus for drug trafficking and Khalistani extremism, adding layers of complexity to the challenges it faces. Add to that, the very farmers that were the political ladder for Aam Aadmi Party in their quest for power in Punjab, are now stuck in the swamp of their own demands. In the midst of these mounting issues, the administration led by Bhagwant Mann appears to exhibit an air of complacency, brushing aside the gravity of the situation.
Governor Purohit’s emphasis on the need for comprehensive action is a clear call for accountability. The targeting of Amritpal Singh, while essential, cannot overshadow the larger crisis at hand. It is evident that CM Bhagwant Mann must grasp the gravity of the situation. The administration’s current approach is inadequately addressing the multifarious challenges that confront Punjab.
