Kerala story box office collection day 6 and 7

Dear folks, repeat after me, “God bless Mamata Didi!”

What, confused?

Kerala story box office collection day 5: What King Khan couldn’t earn despite such massive PR, what even Comrade Mani Ratnam couldn’t manage with a sequel, is what one decision of Mamata Banerjee gave to “The Kerala Story”. The outright ban on the film in Bengal has turned out to be a blessing in disguise, and as such, credit where credit is due!

Read further about the unstoppable juggernaut that “The Kerala Story” has become, and why almost nothing on earth can stop this from becoming another massive success after “The Kashmir Files”.

Kerala story box office collection day 5: 50 crores done, now 100 crores next!

For a film with no big powerhouse, no extra PR, and several attempts to stifle the voices supporting this movie, earning 50 crores in less than a week is no small feat. But that’s “The Kerala Story”, who lets its success do the talking.

Produced and written by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, while co written and directed by Sudipto Sen, the movie is now a rage amongst the audiences. The way it has revealed the dirty nexus between ISIS and the illegal conversions in Kerala has been a wake-up call to the same, and extremely poisonous for others. Long story short, any film that is opposed by the likes of Rajdeep, Arfa and that joke of a fact checker named Mohammad Zubair must be having something credible about it.

Made in a modest budget of about 25 to 30 crores, the film has earned almost a whopping amount of Rs. 46 crores in just 4 days, with the Monday collections being higher than the Friday collections itself. As compared to some 8 crores earned on Friday, the movie clocked a total of 10.07 crores on Monday, way higher than the collections of Friday. This, when the movie faces stiff opposition in Kerala, is unofficially banned in Tamil Nadu, and officially blacklisted in Bengal.

Why fear, when liberals are there?

Speaking of Bengal, the communist intelligentsia has been howling about the movie to the extent, as if someone has snatched their chocolates for the day. While banning the film, in a special video message, Mamata Banerjee mentioned about the dangers it [the movie] poses to a specific community, and how this is not good for a progressive society. It is another matter altogether that the very logic had went for a toss when Mamata vociferously campaigned for movies like “Padmaavat”.  But that’s for another day.

However, Mamata wasn’t alone in the tomfoolery. Rabble rouser Jitendra Awhad, once a cabinet minister in the short lived MVA government, is so enraged with the film, that he has demanded a public execution of the makers of the film. To quote this gentleman, “Under the pretext of “The Kerala Story”, a state and its women are being defamed. The official figure is 3, but it has been presented as 32000. For this very fictional film, the makers ought to be hanged in the public”. Uncle, unless you know something that we don’t, this is not Maharashtra of 2020, though Hitler would have been very proud of you and your tactics.

The Kerala Story is now a movement

However, the liberals are doing what is absolutely necessary for this movie: publicity, and that too free of cost. Like it is said, “forbidden fruit is the sweetest”, so by castigating this film, they’re actually making the public even more curious about the same.

As such, despite several negative publications, threats and the venom spewed by the self-proclaimed guardians of the society, “The Kerala Story” is no more a movie. It has officially become a self-sustained movement, which is certainly not going to stop anytime soon. Now, with states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh making it tax free, it is unlikely that the movie will see any noticeable fall in the figures, and we have only the left liberals to thank for that.
