T Raja Singh’s suspension revocation is 2 months too late!

BJP suffers from a rather interesting problem. Until and unless they are not knocked off, especially in the political parlance, they don’t realize what’s going around. The same applied for Karnataka, and it wasn’t until the drubbing they received electorally, that BJP realized the importance of people like T Raja Singh.

Now, let’s find out about this peculiar problem of BJP, and why BJP is quite late in revoking the suspension of T Raja Singh

T Raja Singh to make a comeback

In a welcome surprise, the Telangana faction of the BJP has decided to revoke the suspension of MLA T Raja Singh, well known for his hardline stance on Hindutva. While conversing with a journalist of ABN Andhra, senior politician G Kishan Reddy was questioned over the suspension of T Raja Singh. G Kishan Reddy nonchalantly mentioned, “The suspension was done according to our rules. Undoubtedly it would be revoked. The rest is up to the central authorities. We have made our stance clear and we hope that the suspension is revoked as soon as possible.”

As per T Raja Singh, he is excited after the news broke out, and he has maintained that he would do his best. In his own words, he ‘served for the cause of BJP even under suspension’ and he would do so openly once the suspension is revoked. He hopes for a greater, stronger comeback.

No point in crying over spilt milk

But what did the BJP gain from this? Nothing for the time being, because this suspension should have happened long ago.

For those unknown, T Raja Singh is a fiery MLA with a no-nonsense stance on Hindutva, who has won the election for the second consecutive time on the BJP symbol from the Goshamahal assembly seat in Hyderabad. He was suspended for making some objectionable statements for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the minorities. Regarding the video for which an FIR was lodged against him, he has said, “Whatever I said was true. Didn’t say anything wrong.” He further told, “Chief Minister KCR’s son, who is the Municipal Corporation Minister, had deliberately got Munawar Farooqui’s program done. The purpose of this program was to hurt the sentiments of Hindus”.

The most powerful weapon of BJP has been aggressive Hindutva, which they have also used on many occasions. But in Karnataka the same commitment was questioned because the suspension of Raja Singh and Nupur Sharma hadn’t been erased from the minds of the people. Apart from this, the immaturity of the former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in many matters only made it worse.

There’s still time

However, it is still not too late. Compared to Karnataka and Bengal, the BJP in Telangana has the advantage of a strong, empowered local leadership. None are strangers to how the BJP surprised everyone by winning 4 seats in the Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of G Kishan Reddy. Moreover, the way the BJP wreaked havoc in the municipal elections in Hyderabad by entering the bastion of TRS now [BRS] and AIMIM, it is clear that it will not be impossible to form a government in Telangana if it so wishes. Just don’t repeat the mistakes made in Karnataka.
