Kisi ka bhai kisi ki jaan collection: Salman Khan squarely rejected at the box office despite Eid and massive PR

kisi ka bhai kisi ki jaan collection

Kisi ka bhai kisi ki jaan collection: Not everyone is as lucky as Shahrukh Khan is. The film is pathetic, theatres are running empty, and yet the farce of a movie called “Pathaan” manages to clock more than 1000 crores. However, when Salman Khan repeated the same tactics, he was in for a rude shock.

New entry in “100 Crore FLOP Club”

When the opening day figures are the lowest for any Salman Khan release in the last 13 years, you know you are in deep trouble. Since the past one year, a special breed of films are coming out, which are loaded with massive PR, bombastic budgets, basically everything but a compelling story and impactful performances. Such movies do manage to earn millions, but are still not enough to even recover their costs, forget being a blockbuster.

Now, it seems that “Kisi ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan” is the latest addition to the list. Made on a colossal budget of Rs. 150 crores, the movie has barely managed to earn some Rs. 160 crores worldwide, and the domestic collection of Kisi ka bhai kisi ki jaan movie hasn’t even crossed Rs. 120 crores.

Some folks, especially Farhad Samji had claimed that “Kisi ka Bhai, Kisi ki Jaan” would set Bollywood on track. Now whatever their intentions were, one thing is sure: that track was clearly not of success. Like last year, Bollywood is yearning for a clean success, and except for “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar” and to an extent “Bholaa”, none of the films could even earn the tag of “Average Grosser”.

Things are not well for Salman

However, that’s not all. Post COVID 19, like many stars, even Salman Khan is finding it hard to adjust to the new dynamics of Indian cinema. Though the quality of his films began deteriorating from 2017 itself, the post COVID scenario showed him the stark reality.

Following the COVID 19 pandemic, none of the films starring Salman Khan has even earned an “Average” tag, forget being a blockbuster. Even “Antim”, where Salman Khan actually acted after years, failed to earn a respectable status for itself.

Tough times ahead for Salman Khan

Now Salman Khan’s upcoming film “Tiger 3” would release in the cinemas next, in the Deepavali season. However, after that, there are no more films forward, since Salman Khan is apparently into introspection mode, and he better go ahead.

This is even more necessary, because there was a time, when Salman Khan just did not mint money, but also entertained the masses in his own way. Yes, you might agree or disagree with his views or personal life, but you cannot ignore the fact that Salman Khan had developed his own fanbase with films like “Wanted”, “Dabangg”, “Ek Tha Tiger”, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Sultan” to name a few.

However, with films like “Radhe” and “Kisi ka Bhai Kisi ki Jaan”, Salman Khan is not only alienating himself from neutral, but also from his erstwhile royal audience. Unless and until “Tiger 3” is a success, Salman Khan might go on the same trajectory as Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, and that’s not a good sign for the erstwhile star.
