Karnataka Opinion Poll 2023: What do Karnataka Congress and Royal Challengers Bangalore have in common? They both have great players and potential, but when it comes to winning the ultimate prize, they always seem to choke like someone who just tried to swallow a whole pizza. And let’s be real, the way Congress is going, it’s like watching a toddler trying to race Usain Bolt. It’s pretty clear that BJP is going to win, even if they have to crawl over the finish line with a margin smaller than Trump’s hands.

Karnataka Opinion Poll 2023: BJP not in the best of spirits
It is a widely accepted truth that BJP is not exactly strolling down an easy path in Karnataka assembly elections this time around. The main issue at hand is their lack of competent leadership. The esteemed BS Yeddyurappa, who has been an instrumental force as a star campaigner in the past, is facing the last election of his illustrious career. Furthermore, the absence of the late HN Ananth Kumar, a dynamic leader whose presence would have undoubtedly made a monumental impact, is sorely felt after his unfortunate passing in 2018. In my personal opinion, these significant losses will undoubtedly prove to be a challenging obstacle for BJP to overcome in the upcoming assembly election.
Let me make it clear, no matter how hard Tejasvi Surya tries, it is crystal clear that his popularity is nothing more than a mere illusion, confined only to the digital world. The reality is that he is utterly disconnected from the ground-level workers, unlike his predecessors in the party and to make matters worse, we have Basavaraj Bommai, who is not exactly the kind of leader Karnataka BJP can afford right now.
Is that how you compete Congress?
With the current situation, Congress seems to have an advantage in Karnataka, similar to the time when Himachal Pradesh had their elections. But is it really that straightforward in Karnataka?
Definitely not!
In Karnataka, there exists an ongoing and ferocious battle amongst Congress politicians, each vying to be recognized as the one true Boss. Whether it be DK Shivkumar, Siddaramaiah, G Parameshwara, or Kharge, every individual boasts their own share of loyal supporters and considers themselves to be the paramount figurehead, whether within the party or the state. This power struggle has been the subject of frequent and sensationalized newspaper headlines, only adding fuel to the already raging fire of competition.

Now, it is both infuriating and laughable that Congress is attempting to feign unity amongst its party stalwarts through cheap and deceitful tactics of pitting Amul and Nandini against each other. However, they seem to have forgotten that the public is not so easily swayed by such perfidious ploys, and their nefarious agenda will ultimately be exposed for the hollow and disingenuous facade that it is. This blatant attempt to manipulate the public is nothing short of an insult to the intelligence of the people, and it is high time that they stopped their foolish and futile attempts to deceive the masses.
In fact, it’s less about the local dairy brand Nandini, and more about Karnataka Congress, who have made a mountain out of mole hill, with their hilarious hysteria over the entry of Amul, which is a successful Gujarati cooperative organization. You must be aware from the fact that Amul is the largest brand in the country with record collection, processing, and selling power, having the largest market share. But Nandini dominates the state market completely.
Then what’s the issue?
As soon as Amul entered the market in Bengaluru, a boycott call was issued. Hashtags like boycott Amul and go back to Amul were circulated.
The “Bruhat Bengaluru Hotel Association” called upon all hotel owners to boycott Amul products and use the ‘state’s pride, Nandini, to support dairy farmers in Karnataka, thus resulting in a total boycott by hoteliers in the state. In addition to the boycott call, the Karnataka administration has come under fire from opposition politicians for allegedly harming the “state’s pride,” the Nandini brand.
Karnataka Opinion Poll 2023: The ultimate winner?
This is not for the first time, as Congress has now resorted to every trick under the sun, in order to make their party win the elections. Be it appealing to PFI’s political wing, or promising restoration of the communal reservation allotted to Muslims [withdrawn by BJP], pitting other Indians and their languages against Karnataka and Kannadigas or calling for a ‘caste census’, Congress has “Divide and Rule” to a nauseating low.
Summing up everything, the hopes of Congress for an electoral edge are futile as the party has failed to address the leadership void and internal rifts. Moreover, local issues are being overshadowed by the venomous rhetoric of Rahul Gandhi and his cohorts, targeting the incumbent Bommai government and the Central government. It is highly likely that the BJP will emerge victorious with a simple majority, with Congress trying to take credit for the win but failing miserably.
