Arvind Kejriwal: It’s only a year left until the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. As per current political developments, the BJP has gained a considerable advantage over other political parties, indicating a possible repeat of its government at the Centre.
The unity of the opposition seems to be a mirage in the desert. It’s a herculean task for these opposition leaders to subdue their prime ministerial ambitions. It’s hard for them to let one person be the face of opposition unity. To add insult to injury, the most promising one is the most incompetent one.
For example, the conviction and consequent disqualification of Rahul Gandhi have momentarily rallied other opposition parties behind him. But deep down, each one of them knows that making a Rahul-centric election campaign will be like giving a cake walk to PM Modi. Not because the BJP knows how to win elections against Congress but because there is no rival to the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress in terms of self-obliteration.
Will Arvind Kejriwal lead a lone wolf attack?
Amid all of this, few faces have distanced themselves from the Congress-led unity alliance. Prominent among them is AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. Slowly and steadily, he has been achieving partial success in achieving the grander plan of becoming a dominant pole or enjoying an influence position in many.

Earlier, we stated that NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, whom PR businesses projected as the “Chakanya” of modern politics, is the test case of what not to do on the line of “Aim High” and work to achieve that. On that same line, keeping the political style and politics of it aside, Arvind Kejriwal seems to have aimed high and been consistently moving towards that goal.

The recent official announcement that AAP has been recognised as the latest national party is a vindication of this growing trend that is solidifying at a brisk pace. Analysing AAP’s style of politics to that of Rahul Gandhi also gives an edge to AAP.
Let me elaborate on this: no matter how innocently Gandhi’s scion may present his claims, Congress’ main campaign plank has revolved around speaking ill of PM Modi, the RSS, and Hindutva, among others. It has not even tried to present an alternative for the issues it claims the BJP has faltered on. The basic income scheme, Nyay, seems to be the last idea the party could come up with to offer on the national front.

Whereas, few issues like NPS vs. OPS, the development model irrespective of its efficacy, freebies, and welfare deliverables hardly find mention in Congress leaders’ speeches, whereas AAP has been blending this with high rhetoric against PM Modi; however, it refrains in direct attack on PM Modi at the wee hours of elections.
When Congress’ graph is on a constant decline, AAP has been making inroads into a new political frontier. All these issues indicate that the opposition parties can keep imagining forging a unity alliance, and Arvind Kejriwal will keep crawling and overshadowing them to take them on directly against PM Modi in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024.
