Sarangpur Hanuman Mandir – Guide

Shree Hanuman Mandir located in Sarangpur, Gujarat is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to the Hanuman ji who is known for his strength and physical prowess. Known as the greatest devotee of Lord Rama, Hanuman played an important role in the Hindu epic Ramayana and it was only with his help that Rama was able to slay the evil Ravana.

History of this Temple

Shastri Yajnapurushdas was appointed to handle the affairs of the temple in 1899 and he is reported to have renovated the temple, acquired more land and added new buildings to the complex. Considered one of the major shrines of the Swaminarayan sect, the Hanuman idol was installed by Sadguru Gopalananda Swami in 1905. Legend has it that when Sadhguru was setting up the idol, he touched it with a stick, which brought it to life.

Sarangpur Hanuman Mandir Timings

Sarangpur Hanuman Mandir opens from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm in the morning and from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the evening. Prasadam time is from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Puja Timings: 8:00 am to 9:00 am in the morning. Mangala Aarti is performed in the temple at 5:30 AM in the morning.
