Bilaspur Naina Devi Temple – Guide
The temple of Shri Naina Devi Ji is situated on a hillock in the Bilaspur district of the state of Himachal Pradesh. Let us tell you that this temple is situated at an altitude of 1219 meters above sea level, which was built by Raja Bir Chand during the 8th century. This temple is known for many folklores after its construction. Shri Naina Devi is built on a triangular hill and is believed to be one of the 52 Shakti Peethas of Mata Sati. All the major festivals of Hindu mythology are celebrated with great enthusiasm in the temple.
History of this Temple
Talking about the history of Bilaspur Shri Naina Devi Temple, according to a legend, when Goddess Sati immolated herself in a yagya, Lord Shiva was distressed and carried the dead body of Sati on his shoulder. The Tandav dance had started, due to which all the gods were scared. After this everyone urged Lord Vishnu to stop them. After this Lord Vishnu fired his wheel which cut the body of Mata Sati into 51 pieces.
All the festivals of Hindu religion are celebrated with great pomp in the Naina Devi temple. The festival of Navratri is most prominent in this temple which is celebrated for 10 days in the temple in the form of a fair in the months of October-November, and Shri Maha Tara Jayanti is also celebrated here.
Bilaspur Naina Devi Temple is situated on the top of the hill which can be reached on foot or with the help of any vehicle. There is also a ropeway here which can be used to reach the hilltop. The idols of Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman are situated in the temple area.

Bilaspur Naina Devi Temple opens at 4:00 AM in the morning and close at 10:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 5:30 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 8:00 PM in the evening.
