As they say, strike the hammer when the iron is hot. It is advisable to reap the maximum benefit out of any situation when your stars are at their brightest. As per Bollywood critics, Shahrukh Khan’s Paathan ‘excelled’ at the box office and ‘shattered’ every previous record. It collected a gross revenue of Rs 1046.6 crores crores worldwide.
So, if everything is to be taken at face value, the touted King Khan should be motivated enough to encash this ‘love’ for his dull and directionless movies. But the reports seem to suggest otherwise.
Will postponing Jawan start a new domino effect?
As per a Bollywood Hungama report, Shah Rukh Khan and director Atlee are considering postponing their much-awaited film, Jawan. Their action-packed film was earlier scheduled to release on June 2. But now reports claim that it will be postponed to new dates if the film production doesn’t complete as per schedule. These reports suggest that in that case, ‘Jawan’ might be released on the big screen in October 2023.
However, the official decision regarding the release date will be taken by the superstar and blockbuster director in the upcoming few weeks. This postponement would hamper the release of SRK’s third major release this year, Dunki.

As per industry experts, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Dunki’s release for Diwali may collide, or the release of Dunki may be postponed until next year. But SRK would like to have an uninterrupted run at the box office. It is not a good idea financially to release two movies back-to-back within two months.
Why did Shahrukh Khan delay “Jawan’s” release? The earlier release date didn’t had major clashes, that would have meant that Jawan would enjoy a successful run at the box office. Now, it appears unsafe to postpone it till the holiday season or until it conflicts with “Salar” or “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.” This is why, this delay strengthen the voices who claim that there is more than what meets the eye.
Along with SRK, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Sanya Malhotra will co-star in Jawan. Deepika Padukone is said to appear in a cameo role. While Dunki is directed by Rajkumar Hirani with Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Satish Shah, and Boman Irani in the supporting star cast.
Why the delay or postponement? Is he being overly cautious for his next releases, giving air to the reports that not everything claimed about Pathan’s success is true and that there is substance to the claims made by people of the contrarian viewpoint?
