A certain country in the world is facing a dilemma. It believes that it is located at the centre of the earth. And this biggest superpower has the ability to rule the world, with a religious book in one hand and a nuclear bomb in another. It can take care of everything under the sun, even inflation. You must have had a positive impression of the country after reading this. Indeed! It is the our beloved neighbour Pakistan.
The shopping bags are lighter, and the bills are heavy. Ah! What a fantastic time to be alive in Pakistan, where the citizens are living the dream of experiencing skyrocketing inflation to unprecedented levels.
But wait, there’s more. In the midst of all this chaos, the government has found a way to distract the public. They’ve decided to expose the former Prime Minister’s lovechild! Because clearly, that’s the most pressing issue in the country right now. It’s almost as if the government is saying, “Who cares about the economy and the suffering of our people?” “We have a lovechild to reveal!”
India has always attempted to make the rest of the world aware of Pakistan’s terrorist threat. But no one cared. Now the “arch brother” nations like Turkey and China, along with Pakistan’s “made in heaven” brother, ISIS, are criticising it. Let’s talk about each one individually so that we can feel more pity for Pakistan.

Turkey
In an earthquake on February 6, Turkey faced devastation. As of now, as many as 46,000 people have lost their lives. On February 8, Mariyam Nawaz, the Information Minister of Pakistan, performed her duty to share information through a tweet that the saviour of the earth, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, was going to visit Ankara.
His visit was to express solidarity with the calamity-hit nation, which he could not muster in his own country. The irony is that Pakistan’s “Supreme Leader” photo opportunity was declined by Islamic brother Turkey. The refusal was formal, and the reason for the denial was the state machinery’s indulgence in the rescue mission.
Now I leave it up to you to decide whether it was the best or the worst decision by Erdogan, but I can tell you the real reason behind Turkey’s refusal. Obviously, the reason is pretty simple. I mean, how can a country in need of assistance sit at the same table as the golden-crowned Sharif? Erdogan declined to meet Shehbaz Sharif out of modesty.
Maybe you did not know the reason, but Shehbaz Sharif knew it very well. That’s why he created a relief fund in Pakistan. He announced the donation of $30 million, which amounts to 810 crore Pakistani rupees. This seems like an easily manageable amount for Pakistan, considering its deep pockets.

Prime Minister Sharif pleaded with all officials and leaders to collect alms for the fund. And also donate their one-month salary, if they are getting any. I am not joking; the Balochistan province earlier defaulted on paying the salaries of officials. Mind you! This was not a sign of bankruptcy; rather, Pakistan was working in advance on PM Sharif’s visionary donation plan. After all, he had to support Turkey.
But as they say, good deeds face a lot of challenges, and Sharif was ditched by the members of Parliament. One of the legislators denied having any desire to donate. He cited a previous instance in which the money was sucked up by officials rather than used to help flood victims. He stated that he has lost faith in Pakistan’s government. What a cruel irony! An epitome of ultimate goodness was painted as an act of corruption.
However, as they say obstacles cannot deter a man from his goals. And Shehbaz, the embodiment of goodness, decided to send a relief package. He too visited Turkey to express his condolences. Now people are saying that it could be done through a phone call. What was the need for the visit? Shehbaz was actually there to provide a relief package to Turkey.
According to reports, it is the same package that Turkey sent to Pakistan as aid during the floods last year. One must applaud Pakistan’s storage facilities for making this possible and for not using this stored meal to feed the hungry belies of the Pakistani Army. And hence, Pakistan won the gold medal for formulating a role model foreign policy, which can be loosely termed the “Soan Papdi doctrine.”

China
For Pakistan, China is like an uncle who saves a child from his father’s thrashing. But, it seems that China has also ditched Pakistan like a hot potato. Why won’t they? Given the country’s precarious financial situation. As per the reports, China has shut down the consular office of its embassy in Pakistan. The shutdown, however, is only temporary, and no reopening date has been set. The reason behind the closure is a technical issue. The nature of the technical problem has yet to be revealed. You can understand the situation. Let us leave it at that and emphasise on the advice given by the Chinese embassy to its citizens in Pakistan.
The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan issued a warning to Chinese citizens to be cautious while in Pakistan, warning that they could be at risk due to a deteriorating security situation. Specifically, the Chinese embassy was attempting to convey that they are leaving ASAP and that their chartered plane is small, allowing its citizens to rest in peace or in pieces. How can China even consider it?
Moving ahead, in order to erase terrorism from its soil, Pakistan called the Pakistani Taliban for a truce. Isn’t this the most democratic way for two like-minded parties to negotiate? But China is a selfish country; it does not want Pakistan to be stable, which is why it left. Trolling Pakistan in this manner is not appropriate. We will be doing Pakistan a grave injustice if we do not talk about its “made-in-heaven brother,” ISIS.

ISIS
ISIS is a terrorist organization, and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was its leader. Undoubtedly, he served Al-Qaeda under Osama bin Laden. So, Pakistan’s closest relationship to the organisation is an unhidden truth. But it is hard to understand why Pakistan does not accept it publicly. It is not a good habit to ignore relatives. Mostly, doing this ends up in family gossip and then in a verbal spat.
This is now happening in Pakistan. In its magazine “Khorasan Ghag,” the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP), an affiliate of ISIS, has targeted Pakistan’s religious scholars as well as its governance system. No! not with guns; family members mostly don’t shoot each other. According to ISKP’s “Khorasan Ghag” magazine, Pakistan is run by “an establishment that follows instructions from the United States.”
However, there are two sides to every coin. The best thing that came out of this rage was a decent title for Pakistan: “A cancer state in the name of Islam.” Looks like Allah wants ISKP leaders to speak the truth at least once so that they can attain “jannat.”

Own Minister
The IMF is hopeful for Pakistan. It has negotiated the bailout package. But,once again, Pakistan failed to rack it up. And it all failed because its Parliament failed to pass a crucial tax bill, which was a condition for the IMF’s alms for the begging bowl of Pakistan. Now, its minister, Khwaja Asif, has said that Pakistan is not defaulting; rather, it has already defaulted.
After all the close ones have parted, Pakistan has been left alone in the world. So, perhaps Pakistan should consider looking up to India. If it is too shy to ask for help, it can at least seek India’s assistance in reaching Turkey via Pakistan. You know what I mean.
