Biography: The life of Rajpal Yadav is a great learning curve for those who get easily perturbed with their surroundings and hardships.
Initial life and hardships
Rajpal Yadav was born on 16 March 1971 in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He was raised among 6 siblings, with a mere income from farming. To make ends meet, for two years Rajpal worked as a tailor in a garment factory after leaving school. Yet, he never allowed hardships and his strained economic situation to deter him.
Cinematic career
He then completed his graduation from the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD). Afterwards, he started his cinematic debut with a negative role in 1999 with the film ‘Dil Kya Kare’. Although he started his career with negative roles and did several villainous roles in the initial phase of his cinematic career, he gradually became focused on comedy.

Now, how many of you know that Rajpal Yadav and Raghubir Yadav ( “Pradhan Ji” from Panchayat) share a common link? Evidently, both of them rose to prominence through the same show. While Raghubir Yadav gained recognition from “Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne (1989)” Rajpal Yadav made a name for himself through its sequel, “Mungerilal Ke Bhai Naurangilal (1999).”

Later, Rajpal Yadav did small roles in few films, but he did not get success. In 2000, he worked in ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’, which gave him real recognition and soon he started appearing in many films.
Going ahead, he proved his versatility as an actor. The prime example of his comic timing can be witnessed in the dim-witted character in “Waqt” or hydrophobic priest in Bhool Bhulaiya or the highly infuriated character in “Hungama”. The list is endless with other prominent roles in “Apna Sapna Money Money”, “Chup Chup Ke”, “Phir Hera Pheri”, and “Dhol”.
He has won several awards for his acting skills, and has been praised for his serious roles in films such as “Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon”, “Main Meri Patni Aur Woh”, and “Undertrial”.
One lesser talked fact is that in 2013 he spent three months behind bars. He was imprisoned for three months in 2013 for failing to repay a loan of Rs 5 crores. This situation arose after he made his directorial debut with the help of businessman MG Aggarwal, however, the film was not successful and resulted in financial loss.
