Two sacred Shaligram stones, weighing 31 tonnes and 15 tonnes, arrived in Ayodhya on Thursday. The stones will be used for carving out the idols of Bhagwan Shri Ram and Maa Janki for the Ram Temple. Shaligram stones are revered by Hindus as they are believed to be a representation of Bhagwan Vishnu. However, as the stones reached Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya, a threat call gained all the attention.

Threat to bomb Ram Janmabhoomi

On the day Shaligram stones reached Ayodhya, a threat call was received by a local resident. The unidentified caller threatened to blow up the Ram Janmabhoomi mandir complex.

As per reports, the call was received by Manoj Kumar at 5 AM, who hails from Sadan and the caller was allegedly from Delhi.

Superintendent of Police (City) Madhuban Singh said, “Teams have been formed to arrest the person. The man would be arrested soon and action would be taken against him.”

Constant Threat: Religious site at risk

The threat has raised eyebrows as it comes after the infamous Al-Qaeda vow to demolish Ram Mandir. In the recent issue of its magazine, Ghazwa-e-Hind, the international terrorist group said that it will demolish the Ram Temple being constructed in Ayodhya and will replace it with a mosque.

In the issue, the group also addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Yogi Adityanath and had warned them to not dismiss its exhortations as “propaganda of the Pakistani establishment”. Along with that it has also called upon the Indian Muslims to support jihad (holy war).

Ram Janmabhoomi: At the target of all

Ram Janmabhoomi, happens to be one of the most religious places in India, revered by Hindus as the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Ram. However, as far as the site is concerned, it has constantly been on the target list by and large, be it political parties like the Congress or the Rashtriya Janata Dal or terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda. Once, again the religious site has been threatened with bombing.
