Maa Daat Kali Mandir is one of the famous Hindu temples located on Saharanpur road near Dehradun. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali Mata who is a part of Goddess Sati, the wife of Lord Shiva. The temple is also known as Desired Sidhi Peeth or Kali Mandir. It is believed that Mata Data Kali Temple is considered to be one of those straight backs.Daat Kali Temple is at a distance of 14 km from Dehradun city center and is one of the most famous temples of the city.

History of this Temple

Dehradun Maa Daat Kali Mandir was established on June 13, 1804, when the construction work of the Dehradun-Saharanpur highway was underway. It is believed that Maa Kali appeared in the dream of the engineer who gave an idol of Goddess Kali to Mahant Sukhbir Gusain for the establishment of the temple and it still resides there in the valley and this is called Daat Kali Temple. A divine flame burning continuously since 1921 makes it more attractive and keeps the faith of the devotees.
