Krishna Balaram Mandir Vrindavan is a Hindu temple located in Vrindavan, Mathura city in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his elder brother Balarama. This is the reason that this temple is also known as Krishna Balarama Temple. This is the grandest of all the temples of Vrindavan, which is visited by a large number of devotees and tourists to see its beauty. The carvings, paintings and drawings inside the temple are very eye-catching and describe the life of the Lord.

History of this Temple

Krishna Balaram Mandir Vrindavan was founded by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966 in New York. The basic beliefs of this society are based on Bhagavad Gita. The ISKCON temple is related to the Gaudiya Vaishnava sect. Where Vaishnav means worship of Lord Vishnu and Gaur is related to Gaur region of West Bengal. It is believed that the Vaishnava sect started from this place.

The ISKCON temple is situated on the banks of the Yamuna River. The ISKCON temple is believed to have been built on the exact spot where Lord Krishna and Balarama used to graze their cows, play and perform pastimes with the gopis five thousand years ago. This place is associated with various stories of the childhood of Sri Krishna and Balarama.

Krishna Balaram Mandir Vrindavan opens at 4:10 AM in the morning and close at 8:45 PM in the evening. Special bhog with Aarti is offered to God at 12:45 PM in the afternoon.
